This book is weird, although the two main protagonists are largely responsible for creating their own angst throughout the story, I couldn't help liking them. I hung with it and got a conclusion that manages to be both satisfying and tenuous!

Would be interested to know where the author sees these characters in 10 years, including McDevitt, although I suspect a sequel could quite feasibly start with his funeral, after he's really pushed someone too far...

There were parts of this book that I really enjoyed but at times it felt too drawn out. The story of naive college girl ,Alex and the College T.A Ryan was good in places and had so much potential but the story felt rushed at times. Also, the heroine seemed to have an inordinate amount of bad luck. It had the makings of a really good story but it felt like it was trying to encompass too many aspects at times. Not a bad read but would have benefited from more editing perhaps.

This was just too 'teenage American angst' for me. It erred into the territory of prissy and a little silly for my taste making it irritating to read and unbelievable. I felt a bit like it had just been taken from a teenage girls diary and converted into a book. I didn't like the characters particularly and the whole book was just a step too far into the sissy side. Sorry.

I really loved this book! Very hard to put down actually. The main characters- Alex and Ryan had amazing chemistry that sizzles off the page. I actually believed that they were the ages they were supposed to be too due to how they were written. Nice to also read a book and have there be no cliffhanger. Definitely worth a read.

I really like teacher/student romances and I must say I really enjoyed this one. But one thing that bugged me was the use of both the first and second names throughout most off the book, other than that it was a really good read.

This is an incredible tale and I really enjoyed this book! And love the ending - it doesn't have a cliff hanger ending so you are left feeling happy about the book, yet sad that you finished the book and just want more!!!!

Reading the reviews, I wasn't sure about this so got a sample which then persuaded me to get the whole book. I'm please I did.
I love college stories anyway but this was a well-written, good one. Alexis (Alex) moves to college and meet a grad student, Ryan, and falls in love. They have many ups and downs but the main plotline focuses on their story, there are subplots but nothing that takes attention away from the main one.
The only reason I didn't give it five stars because their constant splitting up, mainly by Ryan, became a little irritating because of his 'it's better for her, I'm being noble' attitude. Otherwise it was a good read.
Suitable for older readers due to sexual content.

I really enjoyed this book but understand what others have said about how many times they was on/off as it did get a bit frustrating also it needs a second book as ending was not enough and seemed like a lot more of the story needed to be told.
