Check this band out!!!
I grew up listening to such bands as Cast, Oasis, Ocean Colour Scene, blur, Inspiral Carpets, Ian Brown, Embrace, Supergrass, Blur, Pulp, Happy mondays, Stone Roses and Shed Seven Etc.
It's from a time when people listened to great English music with great lyrics. All the bands listen above create amazing music that you can listen to before you hit the town or it you just want to sit in and chill out.
Shed seven seem to of been forgotten by the world but they are truly a great band. It's all about the music with them. If you like music then give this band a chance! They will have songs you know but never knew who sang them (such as Disco Down)... If you are not sure you want to pay £10 for an album then get this one. It will give you a good feel for the band and it features some of their best songs. Get on your Lambretta and listen to Shed Seven, or sit in the sun with a few beers and a BBQ and listen to some great upbeat music

Although overshadowed by the likes of Blur and Oasis, Shed Seven are an equally appealing, quality indie-rock band who exploded onto the mainstream at the height of Britpop. This four-piece band from York chalked up a string of quirky, inspiring hit singles between 1994 to 2003, and released four excellent studio albums, filled with anthems for indie lovers.

There are several greatest hits packages on the market, but 'The Collection', released in 2004 provides the most varied material. Whilst you do get the big hits 'Going for Gold', 'Disco Down', and several others, many of Shed Seven's most popular singles aren't included, so there's no 'Chasing Rainbows' or even 'Getting Better'. But the compilers of this budget release compensated for those omissions by weaving together a selection of the band's lesser-known album-only tracks, and some obscure B sides. Personal favourites of mine include 'Song Seven', which was, ironically, one of the B sides on the 'Getting Better' single, and 'Sleep Easy', one of 'the' highlights on the band's second album 'A Maximum High', which was their most popular and engaging record.

If you're looking for a greatest hits collection, then you need to buy Going For Gold, which contains all the singles, but 'The Collection', with it's deeper cuts, provides a neat little companion piece, with lots of rare gems in the one place.

This is a brilliant album because:
It doesn't just have all the hits on, it has B sides - bonus tracks, whatever you want to call them. Many of these tracks are not available on any other album so if you don't have all the singles this is a valuable CD to own. Shed Seven are so much more than your average indie band from the nineties, they are your mates singing songs dedicated to your life; your ups and downs, wins and fails. This album continues the soundtrack to your life...

One of Indie Music's great unsung bands. one of my personal favourites as I found their style and sound different to other more illustrious bands.
Shame they are not still together.
