I've had the videotape version of this since first release and it's now showing signs of wear.

I hoped the DVD would have been visually and acoustically improved.

Unfortunately it looks more like a quick transfer from tape (less a few tracks) with a very basic interface slapped on.

Excellent content (what there is of it) but poor production quality.

No extras whatsoever, just 11 videos - 39 mins 49 secs.

I'll stick with the tape!

Because I bought the CD I went for the DVD as well.It is great to watch the old videos again and brings back great memories. The only dissapointing aspect is that two songs from the CD are missing, Visions in blue, and Sleepwalk. That's why I gave it 4 out 5 stars.

It's been at lot of years ago since Ultravox released their last album with Midge Ure vocals and all their work sounds still completely fresh and new as they were and great new band born in the past few years. In 1984, they released a video compilation with all their hits in video format but, due to the band's demise in 1986, this release was deleted by the company. Since then, Ultravox fans (a lot around the world though the band dissapeared) asked and asked for a re-release of this video compilation. And so came the wonderful news, this video compilation has not only been re-released but published in DVD format. So you can now have all the Ultravox hits in video version and in a format that maintains its quality along the time. Then I don't know what are you waiting to take this item for your music/video collection, it's an absolute must!

Any Ultravox fan would value this as an archive. it takes you back to when the Video was almost as important as the single it accompanied and Ultravox did some pretty innovative ones so it's good to have.

I loved ultravox ,whilst at school in 1980s . We used to video on a tape ,whenever they were on the television back then so had seen these videos many many times before .30 years on they look like 6th formers taking themselves and their lyrics rather too seriously . Still enjoyed seeing them after all these years even if it was just to cringe / laugh at midge and his various outfits / sideburns and collection of hats

Alright Ultravox were one of the better bands of a pretty bland decade and this compilation contains some of their better songs. I was looking forward to seeing the videos again but the grainy quality of the film makes it a pretty poor experience. Sure the songs are still listenable but the visuals really drag the dvd down. There are only ten tracks and with a running time of less than forty minutes it all seems a little like getting a product out regardless of the quality/value.
There is actually a menu where you can choose tracks but this is not apparent as the dvd autoplays and goes straight into the first video. Try pressing the root or title menu buttons on the remote to access the menu.
I roadied for U-Vox when John Foxx was the singer and it would have been nice to have seen one of their earlier singles included!

The videos here are for the most part excellent. It was after seeing the video for Love's Great Adventure on Top of the Pops that got me into Ultravox.
Nowadays, a lot of the videos look pretentious or cheesy, but even so, they are still enjoyable. The music is sheer brilliance.
The picture is often grainy and there are no menus, the songs just play one after another. It's also a shame that Visions in Blue was omitted, but I hear that was due to the sexual nature of it.
Otherwise an excellent buy for fans of Ultravox. How else are you going to see these videos unless you have an old VHS tape?.
