This is the best general and concise introduction and overview of the hobby that you are likely to find. The book packs loads of valuable advice from an author who clearly knows the subject inside out. It covers numerous collecting themes and styles, including replacement notes, printing errors, forgeries, country groups, periods of history, American Civil War, emergency money, hyper-inflation money, French Revolution assignata and much more. It reveals how to obtain these paper collectables at low prices and how to avoid getting cheated. This book is EXACTLY what you need if you are fairly new to the hobby, and even experienced collectors will probably gain some facinating new insights from this geat book. Most of the book consists of text with the occasional selective illustrations that greatly help to augment the book's guidance. There is an excellent chapter on identifying obscure exotic notes, and another one explains the mysteries of proper grading practice and how to protect your collection.
