2.0 out of 5 stars More like "Declare these difficult hands with a small clue from the bidding" 20 May 2006
By Frances - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
The hands are tough, but the clues are iffy.

Theer is not like some of teh other books on the subject, like Lawrences "How to Read Your Opponents Cards". I belive the clues are not substantial enough in some acses to really base a decision one way or another. Sure I'd rather take the 50.5% pl;ay than the 49.5% play, but that kind of decision is not where the points are lost over the long run. The problems are not practical.

I can't recommend this book.

Instead try Marshall Miles books All 52 Cards an Inferences at bridge.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pass 8 Dec. 2006
By Mike Gorsky - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I like some of Pottages books (Defend these Hands with Me). But most I don't case for.

I was hoping this would be about drawing clues from the bidding.

Unfortunately the clues are not very substantial. The emphasis of the book is more on the play of hard hands. Play of hard hands is ok in a book titled "play these hard hands with me". Nothing wrong with hard hands, but in many cases this book didn't have very good clues to base play on in. (Some hands were good, about 20%)

I can't recommend it to anyone, even to advanced players. There are better books on Clues and better books on card play.
5.0 out of 5 stars Really worth a try 24 Jun. 2014
By Winston Hunag - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This is a great book, it gives the bidding, a short description and reader needs to spend great deal to time to solve, just like sometimes we did on the table. I enjoy reading this book, the questions are NOT easy but definitely worth the time. IMHO
