Perfect for fringes and wispy bits of hair!

I wanted a straightener only for my fringe and wispy bits around the face (even though I have long hair).

After reading the reviews I was not sure if these would be too small even for fringes .... but I took the risk anyway. Anyway, I am so glad I did! Not only did they straighten my fringe quickly and easily, they glided down my hair very “kindly” - with none of that ‘singed’ feeling I get from my other, cheaper straighteners!

Of course, if you want your straighteners for an entire head of long hair, then yes, definitely go for the full size version.

I picked these up because being a bloke with an undercut and longish fringe but not particularly long hair overall. I didnt want to get a pair of wider tongs as the last GHDs I had I would frequently catch and burn my fingers trying to get them around. The slimness of the Cloud 9s means I can easily grab a patch of hair from the front and get straight hair quickly. Highly effective straighteners, but my hair isnt particularly thick or unruly. I just like to get rid of the natural wave.

These things only take seconds to heat up which is handy. Being so small they are useful for travelling, come with a heat protected slip on cover, but also a pouch. Unfortunately that pouch isnt big enough to hold the cable and the plug / power pack - which is a chunky old thing and (being the only detrimental thing I can find about the tongs) can be awkward to share a multisocket with other plugs.

Just received my new Micro Iron. It is very smal and it has only one heat setting but it's hot enough for my uncoloured long-ish hair. Normally I do curl my hair so it worked really well for me.
I can see why other customers complain about the UK plug it does look big for this small hair straightener but it's not a big deal to me. I have full size Could 9 straighten which I received 5 years ago as a present and it still works as new. Would definitely recommend.

I bought these small straighteners for two reason. Cloud 9 were highly recommended by my hairstylist and I have short hair. These would probably be ideal in size when travelling but are no use otherwise. The plates didn't seem to meet properly and I just could not get a grip on a length of hair. Tried several times and gave up. Thankfully I had no problem with getting a refund when I returned them. I think they are quite expensive for such a small set.

When these were delivered I was surprised at how compact they are. They are fantastic though and I'm so glad I bought them. I have short hair and they're ideal. They heat up fast and come with a heat guard and little velvet bag. Would recommend!

I wanted a back up pair to my ghds and thought I'd get a smaller pair so take on holiday. Well these are certainly small! Great straighteners but harder to use than normal size ones. Really smooth on hair ( I have very fine hair and are great and dont pull at all). They are tiny though so take longer to straighten hair but great as back up or travel pair. Quality ceramic and a lot cheaper than the ghd micro iron. Glad I paid a little bit more for a quality pair. Will just take a bit more patience to style hair than with a standard size. Nice little travel pouch and protective shield for end of straighteners very useful.

I've tried a couple of cheap straighteners and always found they pulled alot at my hair. It was torture. I was a bit worried about these doing the same as the plates touch first at the tip, but when using them they worked smoothly and painlessly. They heat up really quickly - almost instantaneously based on the flashing light. Light and easy to use. Great on short hair. Plug is enormous (why???) so point off for that, and very expensive for such a small device without variable heat. But I'm hoping it will last me now.
