With the right encouragement, every man is the marrying type...When a commitment-shy bachelor meets a woman for whom love equals wedding bells, the sparks start to fly. Clayton Day has always been afraid of commitment. Burned in the past, his relationship philosophy these days can be summed up in the words "don't wanna know". Been there, done that and not going back anytime soon. Not that he is never tempted, of course. Plenty of women are attracted to his sexy smile and healthy bank account. But for calculating Clayton every one of them represents a risk he just isn't willing to take. Until he meets Riannah Moore. Beautiful, vivacious and successful, Riannah scores a tick in every box. Except, of course, that she's a woman. And she wants more than just a fling. Riannah isn't going to be happy until she gets a wedding ring on her man's finger - and the man she has chosen is Clayton. Fighting against an attraction he can't deny, cautious Clayton must choose: throw caution to the winds for a chance at true happiness, or hedge his bets and walk away from the one person close enough to open the wounds he has fought long and hard to close. And in the end, it really just comes down to one question - is it better to lose a future for the sake of the past, or reach for the stars and maybe fall trying?

I can't leave out the engaging side characters; some who could easily emerge into a story of their own. The Closer I Get to You has become one of my favorite books in the Cochran/ Deveraux Sagas. It's another winner by a prolific writer.
