Got all of the clean and lean diet books, definitely worth a look, have been on the diet for just under a year and have lost 2 and half stone, its not a diet its a change of lifestyle.

Pretends to be much better than it is.... but this sort of thing I think is very much personal choice. I think he is riding of the celebrity bit as I didn't find this practical at all. I didn't find any of the recipes practical for a busy life-style either

I had expected more ..but then don't we always? glossy, masses of pics of James and his wife looking glam; 'chill-axing in beautiful locations - in the sun. Or surfing / rock climbing / swimming /

load of celebs 'recipes' ... elle McPherson's revolutionary recipe contribution ? scrambled eggs. Hugh grants? Cold lamb salad --- as in put 4 slices of cold lamb on slices of tomato and mozarella. Whoopee doo.

Basically its what we've all heard before - cut the CRAP ... as in Coffee, Refined sugar, Alcohol and Processed foods.
Bread, pasta, potatoes, breakfast cereals = bad for you ....but loads and loads of (more expensive) heavy, heavy protein.

Swaps suggested: pasta with a creamy sauce for white miso scallops... tuna n rice sushi for fresh tuna steak on seaweed salad, seafood paella for rock oysters ...... getting the drift?

its a pretty book ............and I'll accept some of the recipes sound good but as a realistic diet to shape up? The jury is out.

I bought this to learn about clean and lean eating and lifestyle as we are hearing a lot about this in the media.
The couple are on the front cover are husband and wife and both look so healthy - numerous pics throughout the book show glowing skin, healthy bodies and gleaming hair. So you definitely feel inspired to give it a go.
Regarding the chapters and ease of access to recipes - they are divided very well into various sections eg breakfast, lunch etc.
Ingredients are easy to obtain and even though the couple are Australian it would suit UK users and readers.
I found that following the diet was easy and as long as you have prepared your meals in advance. More importantly I lost lots of weight and my skin was very good.

Lots of good recipes and inspiration to get you into everyday healthy eating. Don't think the end section on treats and cheats is an essential part of the book-I don't require inspiration nor recipe ideas for this, that's the part that's all too easy!

I have been following the clean & lean system for a while now and it has changed my life. I feel sooo much better: full of energy, healthy and in good form. This book offers a great variety of recipes: they are easy but not boring at all. No excuse to eat rubbish food anymore!! It is divided in several sections: breakfast, lunch, dinner, cheats and treats and smoothies. There is everything for everyone, with a lot of variety. It provides a brief intro on the clean and lean system for those who are not familiar with it, an introductory 14 days detox plan and useful tips on how to stay on track.
NOTE: this is NOT a diet book. This is a healthstyle manual that will change your mindset and the way that you see (and eat) food forever. Great!! Buy also the previous Clean & Lean books for body exercises and more recipes. You will not be disappointed.

I bought this book because I wanted some new healthy recipe ideas. After all the cover states 'Clean & Lean recipes keep my body in amazing shape' (Elle Macpherson) and it also mentions a 14-day menu plan. Sadly too much space is wasted in the book with pointless things such as photographs of occasionally Mr Duigan himself but mostly Mrs Duigan, usually in a bikini (wasn't it enough to put one of these photographs on the cover?). It's a bit like get rich quick schemes that feature photographs of people stood outside huge houses or driving sports cars. You need to put more effort into telling people how to achieve success rather than exhibiting the results of that success. Good marketing I suppose but the cover photograph would've been sufficient without flooding the book with more of them.

Most of the breakfast recipes are pointless or pretty obvious; if the recipe is called Hugh Grant's Poached Eggs with Asparagus and Parmesan and the ingredients are eggs, asparagus, Parmesan, salt, pepper and olive oil, I think anyone could probably work out what to do. That's without mentioning the needless celebrity name dropping that is a constant throughout the book. Does it really need to be Hugh Grant's Poached Eggs? The 14-day menu plan is a bit pointless also as it just lists most of the recipes throughout the book alternated over 14 days, without any other great revelations. The 'bad, better, best' guides throughout the book are mostly obvious also; for example Fish and chips/Fried fish without batter/Grilled fish with salad. Chapter 8, Clean and Lean Smoothies, could have been a very useful summary of the best smoothies, but instead is one big advertisement for Bodyism supplements, which feature in nearly all of the recipes. Can you not make smoothies with entirely natural ingredients?
