It landed less than a week later, all the way from Bavaria, Germany. Which is really good i reckon. Well packaged and unmarked, it arrived in mint condition. Thumbs up there.
It looks great and sounds better. Its certainly as loud as my 6 string acoustic guitar, and has a really rich tone unplugged. A previous reviewer points out the strings being cheap and 'buzzy', but these ones are fine. I suppose that means it might sound even better with new strings.
I plugged in and twiddled about with the EQ settings as i went. Its already got a battery fitted, which is easy to replace and has a handy battery test LED.
Everything works just fine and it has a nice tonal range to suit your style. I am delighted at the sound of it both unplugged and through the amp. The neck is quite slim, the rosewood is lovely, the action is nice. the body is slimmer than my 6 string, the whole thing is a joy to play. i cant put it down.
In short then, It looks lovely, sounds fantastic and plays beautifully. PLUS its cheaper than most.
I am honestly gobsmacked at the price tag, ive played worse for twice the price.
have yourself a beer and get one ordered !

I've been playing for over 30 years and i cant fault it.
The guitar itself is very impressive indeed. It does come with an Allen key but it needed no adjustment. It was even partly tuned It has a good tone and strong acoustic volume (I haven't got an amp). You can create string buzz if you try, particularly on the E string, but that's true of any guitar and this is generally a very forgiving instrument to play. The proof of good build, fretting and string height is that the intonation on the octave on each string is almost 100% accurate.
The strap attachment stud on the body doubles up as the jack point. There is no other point of attachment on the body (which I would have preferred) so the other end of a strap needs to be tied round behind the nut.
As I say, I do not have an amp so I can't comment on the pre amp though it does look a little bit lightweight and plasticky but at the price . . .
All in all, very impressed and recommend it.
Hope this helps someone
I spent an hour or so picking the guitar up from the depot each time because the courier won't deliver on Saturdays without being paid another £10. And I spent another hour or so documenting the faults, communicating with the manufacturer, repackaging the guitar and queuing at the post-office. All told: over 6 hours of my time which, in monetary terms, is more than the guitar cost. An elapsed time of 7 weeks from the original order and the guitar I have still qualifies as faulty.
The promise is good. The delivery on that promise falls short.
Update 10/08/2013: I had it for a month and the D string tuning key malfunctioned. You could tighten the D string only so far and, before it got in tune, it would slip back with a twang. I presume the thread on the screw mechanism failed. After some research (more time wasted) I found I could have replaced the tuning key for £15 but I decided to return the bass for the last time and get a refund. I got back what I paid for the bass minus the original post and packing (£15).Read more ›

This is really nice bass guitar, I changed the strings as the ones that came with it made my black, but I can't fault the shape and sound of this guitar.Published 12 months ago by George R.
This is a stunning guitar for the price. Beautiful tone and handles well. I would heartily recommend as a fab alternative to electric versions for softer acoustic effectsPublished 17 months ago by BrightonAlan
