I've found the book inspirational, it's divided into sections by total meal calories, and i've already tried several really tasty recipes. I love the Buck Rarebit.
I find that by picking out my chosen recipe before the fast day, it means that during the fast day my willpower is stronger as I know that if I waste any calories unnecessarily I then can't have my planned meal.
I've only been doing it a couple of weeks so it's too early to really see any weight loss benefits, but the program showed that it was about so much more.
With the book containing 1,000 recipies, I can't see me running out of inspiration for a long time.
One word of advice when using the book - make sure you make a note of how many the recipe serves !! - lol
The beginning of the book gives advice on diet- usual things such as grill rather than fry, don't add sugar etc., so fairly basic stuff.
Then there is a page on more useful tips.
Following an example of a 1000 calorie a day diet, there are notes on the recipes which helps you use the recipes eg.- all herbs are dried unless otherwise stated, calories are per portion - etc.
Breakfast calories range from 150 cals and look tasty but might take a little cooking- or at least a little more effort than my usual cereal and milk!.
This is followed by easy everyday breakfasts which may be pre- measured cereal and skimmed milk or egg and toast etc.
250 calorie breakfast follows with a similar theme-
Soups and starters 100 cals, 150 cals.
Light lunches 200 cals - includes sandwiches, omlettes, mega open sandwiches, pitta pockets.
300 cal light lunches or suppers- include american style beefburgers, soufflee, omlettes
350 memorable meals - various meats- chicken, duck, pork including sweet and sour
Then the 450 and 550 cal section is devided into poultry, fish , lam, ham, beef and pork etc. as well as vegetarian.
There are also side dishes from 50cal, desserts from 100 cals to 200,ice creams, snacks, sauces, dressings
So much in quite a small compact book.
If you like traditional calorie counting, then there is a lot here for you to be getting on with - Highly recommended and I can'y wait to get stuck in.
