I do plan to build a model of one of these locomotives some day, so the information within will prove useful although the included drawings lack certain dimensions. The arrangement of the unusual bogie framing remains a mystery to me. The included pictures of the loco's being built are helpful.
However, I believe the stated aim of the book was to help owners of ready to run models find the details about the different members of these classes and as pictures of all sides of every one at every time in their long existence would be impossible to present, I don't see how this edition could be bettered except with fold out 7mm scale drawings!
The book itself has a wealth of information on the Class 24 and Class 25s making it prob an essential for modellers wanting an accurate model or the enthusiast
This an excellent addition to my ever expanding library of reference books, railways, aircraft and AFV's. I would recommend this book even if it was just for a casual read for those interested in this useful and often travelled class of locomotive.
The project could not have proceeded without this book
However despite the detail this is not a heavy or boring book to read. It is concise, complete, well researched and well organised.
Well done.
