The publicity-shy guitar player from the English county Surrey was already active in rock music for fifteen years when he played for the first time in studio with the beat pioneers "The Yardbirds" in 1963 and this recording was made. In the same year "Slowhand" was released and became one of his milestones. Clapton was completely under the spell of the blues and infected a whole generation with the fever. In his ubertrio Cream, he helped pave the way for improvisation in rock music. As a soloist, Clapton has left classic rules behind, sweetening his laid-back melodic style with reggae and country bits. Clapton has always placed feeling above technique. The magic that Clapton unfolds during his no-frills concerts leaves no doubt: whoever wants to fully comprehend this sensational guitarist, must go to see him where he feels most comfortable - on stage in front of his audience. it seems to be the only DVD from this periode, great songs,
the picture and sound are like an VHS, but it is a teasure.
Its sad that only this remains from the 70 decade.
Buy it if you want to know a different Clapton on stage,
with different musicians and songs...
NUEVO from whom I bought it were excellent and immediately sent a pre-paid return packet and refunded me as soon as they received the dvd.
