Margaret Frazer is the award-winning author of more than twenty historical murder mysteries and novels. She makes her home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, surrounded by her books, but she lives her life in the 1400s. In writing her Edgar-nominated Sister Frevisse (The Novice's Tale) and Player Joliffe (A Play of Isaac) novels she delves far inside medieval perceptions, seeking to look at medieval England more from its point of view than ours. "Because the pleasure of going thoroughly into otherwhen as well as otherwhere is one of the great pleasures in reading." She can be visited online at http://www.margaretfrazer.com.

Excellent story from Margaret Frazer

Most of the books I've read by Margaret Frazer are about Dame Frevisse, but this is a very excellent story about how early pagan and herbal medicine was part of society, and how it blended with early Christianity in England. I was fascinated by this story and I love reading historical fiction that is based on research about the history and culture of medieval times.

Margaret Frazer has a wonderful mind for creative plots in historic circumstances and a great insight into human nature. Circle of Witches has a broad appeal and could be read by an 8th grader ( with a good vocabulary) or a senior citizen. It is a lovely tale weaving the earth magic of Celts and early populations in Britain with later generations. In some respects it is a simple love story but she weaves it together with pre Christain magic and good versus evil. I quite enjoyed it as I have enjoyed most of her other work.
Regency "Straw Dogs," Genteel Version

Quite different, a charming Regency novel with "old religion" overtones. Excellently written; interesting characters; convincing ingenue viewpoint character. Is the magic real? Revealed at the proper time.

I love everything she writes. Her writing has a depth and authenticity of voice that transports me to a different time and place. Please keep them coming.
