Although not part of my review of this book (which overall I enjoyed) I would have thought that to make a film featuring speedway bikes of this era together with those size of crowds etc would be exremely difficult - but then what do I know about filming (or anything else for that matter)?
PS. Dave Lanning is to Speedway what Murray Walker and Eddie Waring were to their sports of motor racing and rugby league, ie, some purists hated them but they certainly did so much to popularise their respective sports to the general public.
