Since seeing the ad for this doll on TV at the end of last year, it is all my daughter wanted for her 5th birthday.
I agree, it is a sad concept, and the extra yelp the doll gives when you inject it up its bottom is a bit harsh. But it does provide kids with a lot of caring duties, which my daughter likes.
I'm wondering if the recommended age for this doll at 3+ is a bit young, as the initial combination you must use to quieten the feverish doll is quite complicated for young kids to remember. You have to take its temperature, use each bottle in turn for a certain amount of time, before injecting it up its bottom.
I wish you could get other clothing to dress it in and maybe a nappy or two, just to add to the interaction children could have with the doll.
I also wish it was in pink, because poor Cicciobello is now known as Lisa and he clearly isn't happy about that either.
(Oh yes and the crying might scare your cats if you have them).

I bought this for my two and a half year old daughter when our son was born. When you take the dummy out the baby cries and cries. You are supposed to use the different bottles to find out what the baby wants, but if you don't leave them in for long enough, nothing works, you give up and put the dummy in. My daughter loves dolls, but is not really interested in this one. Not worth the money.

Poor baby blue! The doll is a great size, and really realistic, but the whole concept is sad- a poorly baby, who needs injections and medicine... and when you lose the bits (which, with four kids often happens) the poor thing doesn't ever recover, but remains feverish and ill with no way of making him feel better. I find it all a bit too depressing. My wee girl loves him though.

Children loved it and spent lots of time making it cry, feeding it with it's bottles and giving it injections (:-/). However, it broke after 4 months! Expensive for 4 months play and very disappointing.

The doll cries like a baby, sleeps like a baby but children must think that all babies do is cry, but they do sometimes chuckle don't they? The clothing not very well made as on both dolls only one of poppers on back fastened, the other two did not so only time will tell how durable the remaining fastener is

Bought for 5 year old daughter. She loved it at first but it does exactly the same thing every time you play with it. Its only a soft bodied doll, just with plastic hands, feet and head. She has become a little bored with it after only a month. Very expensive for what it does.
