What can i say except the book was priced well below the usual church publishers price. It arrived very quickly and it is the complete set of rules encompassing all you need to know about annual PCC meetings and voting procedures and rules.

This is the new (2011) edition of the Church of England's Church Representation Rules and replaces the previous (2006) edition. Staff at Diocesan level and many members of the clergy will undoubtedly have 'the Rules' as a standard item in their offices. Unfortunately, however, it seems that many lay members of Parochial Church Councils do not even have access to a copy, let alone have their own copy.

Nevertheless it is absolutely essential reading for all PCC members and others having any responsibilty for the proper organisation of a church's activities and legal responsibilities.

In my opinion every person elected to a PCC should be supplied with a copy, otherwise how can they be expected to exercise proper oversight of the parish's work in accordance with their legal obligations?

Church House Publications is to be commended for having the book produced entirely in England but at full price some people may be deterred. But from Amazon, the price is reasonable, and imaginative PCCs could easily arrange a Gift Aid project for bulk purchase.

Frankly, however, General Synod should arrange for the whole document to be put on-line as a free download so that anyone could read it. As a result sales of the printed version would almost certainly increase, for the shear convenience of being able to carry around this slim volume.

It is useful to have an up to date summary of this the Church Representation Rules as I needed to check a point. The last edition was publised in 2006. Some changes were made and a new edition was published in 2011. It was helpful to be able to source an upto date copy.

Cheaper than buying from elsewhere. This is a legalistic type reference document; it is the genuine article published by Church House Publishing cover price £7.99 so what more can you say.

Gives most of what you need to run the PCC legally. Just doesn't include the new requirements for charity trustees.

This book is very useful for Church Wardens, Secretaries or anyone connected with the running of the church or members of the PCC. It's not an exciting book but it does give you the rules and regulations to work with. Until you become involved in the running of a church, you can't believe how many rules need to be followed before you do anything. A very valuable tool.

I bought this book because our Vicar is retiring in the near future and I will be chairing our PCC meetings during the interregnum. It is exactly what the title says the Church Representation Rules. Like all such books it is NOT a light read.
