First time in print for this e-book author much loved by bloggers (The Bookseller)
Christmas at Lilac Cottage is the perfect winter read. It's everything you need in a Christmassy book and I suggest you make yourself a big cup of hot chocolate when you start reading it. The story of Penny and Henry is filled with humour, love and emotion. I have thoroughly enjoyed it and was sad to leave them once I finished the book. Holly is incredible at writing stories that read fluent, and this one flowed so easy that I often wondered if I had skipped a line. But it was just due to the fluent prose and well written story (Silk eReads and Writes)
5/5* (My Life as a Dog Bed)
Like a creamy hot chocolate with marshmallows, you won't want to put this deliciously heartwarming novel down (Isn't That Novel)
Christmas at Lilac Cottage is the perfect winter read. It's everything you need in a Christmassy book and I suggest you make yourself a big cup of hot chocolate when you start reading it (I Read to Escape)
I loved this sweet and gentle holiday love story and the descriptions of the cottage and the village made me feel like I was in White Cliff myself (For the Love of Books)
Christmas at Lilac Cottage is definitely a book to try, preferably whilst wrapped up in a warm blanket with a mug of steaming coffee next to you...it will certainly get you in the mood for the Christmas festivities that are set to come (Book Worm Mummy)
The first half of the book was wonderful. I LOVE Penny, in fact I loved her through the whole book. I loved the small town feel and the festive setting of the book. It had great secondary characters as well as well as some laugh out loud moments (Between the Book Ends)
This is a very pretty silver sparkling cover with a one of the best romantic stories that I have ever read. It really is a page turner with lines that made me smile, laugh and had me in tears. I just never knew what a fantastic author Holly Martin was until I read Christmas at Lilac Cottage (I Read Novels)

Pippa the main character is living with a broken heart, and though her heart was broken over 12 years ago she has been running away ever since as there is no way will she let someone break her heart all over again, Pippa has spent the 12 years travelling over the world as has been employed as a professional holiday reviewer therefore she has nowhere she can call home.
When she receives her next assignment she simply presumes she is going on another typical holiday destination, she soon realises her destination holds special memories of her childhood. Pip is being paid to review the newly opened hotel Stardust hotel and from the moment she gets on the aeroplane which will take her to Juniper Island newly christened "Christmas island" this is no typical holiday hotel as this island is dedicated to that one time of year which most people hold special, Christmas!
When Pippa meets the owner of the holiday island she quickly comes to the conclusion this holiday will hold more than memories of her childhood, as the new owner of this beautiful hotel is Gabe the one man who she let into her heart but as far as she is concerned he broke her heart in the hardest way possible.
With the wonderful descriptive writing, Holly Martin has written a wonderful read which had me craving everything which is linked to Christmas but as she brought not only the lives of Pip and Gabe alive she also had me visualising the glass igloos, the husky pups even the Northern Lights as the Island which the story is based on is fictionally based near the Shetland Islands. I could almost smell the many fragrances she lovingly produced through brilliant writing. What made this book special for me as a reader, was how I got to know the very delicate Pip who has to learn to let go of the past while getting to know Gabe and his very beautiful daughter.
I do not want to ruin this wonderful read for other readers, but one thing I will say this is one very entertaining book which will take the reader on a Christmas journey like no other and one where lessons and trust had to be learned before love was lost forever.
I am happy to recommend this wonderful read, Christmas Under a Cranberry Sky written by the super talented Holly Martin as not only a wonderful read filled with love and hope but one where Christmas was brought to the reader through fantastic writing which had me gripped throughout.
The story travels along well and the characters are ones we really care about, and want to be happy. The hero's daughter, Wren, completely steals the show and is adorably cute but with just enough mischief to make her believable.
All in all, if you want a cosy festive read, get yourself to Christmas.
But fate happens and seeing Gabe again after twelve years. He has got a lovely daughter called Wren.
They both know the real reason what happened twelve years ago.
Great characters, Neve, Gabe's sister and Luke their half brother and how he opened up to Pip about his personal life etc.
Looking forward to the next follow up when it comes out later this month.
The characters are adorable. The story is perfect. Pip and Gabe are the perfect couple. They had it all 12 years ago and Pip left through a misunderstanding. 12 years later when they least expect it life takes a turn and throws them together again.
I jiust love Christmas books and I am beginning to love reading this type of story by Holly Martin.
I look forward to reading the second book.
This is part one of a two book series.
