Product Description

Matt Hanlon, has one responsibility... Get his kids to Aunt Tess's house by Christmas Day or his wife will be more than crazy mad at him. No big deal because he has three days to get there and it's only an 800 mile drive. What he didn't count on was getting lost and ending up having to rely on the kindness of Bonnie Kate, a 70 something cowgirl protector of a hidden herd of wild horses.

Matt and the kids learn that one of the oldest mares, aptly named Maria, is about to have a baby and Bonnie is worried. Over the years the now very small herds' biggest enemy has been a series of wild-horse thieves. This year they come in the form of a couple of dim-witted local high-school dropouts named Tank and Bones.

Fortunately, this Christmas, Bonnie has some much needed help in squelching the evil deeds of the bumblingly-humorous encounters with Tank and Bones. In the end, Maria has been horse-napped and is feared lost...but just as the Christmas Eve clock strikes midnight Maria and her foal are found safe and sound. Bonnie gives the Hanlon's the honour of naming the Foal... Christmas

the delivery side of it was fine and arrived within a few days however the film itself wasn't particularly good. My sisters and I love horses so when I saw this film I thought it would be a good film to watch together however the quality, story line and the acting in the film wasn't good at all. I'm not saying the actors are bad/rubbish but the script isn't very good and doesn't really flow. that's probably why the film is only £3.

This film is without a doubt the worst film I have ever seen and that's no exaggeration. I have no idea who the actors were in the film but even calling them actors is being generous. The acting is so wooden that the props had more life in them. The way they stood around when delivering lines could not have been more awkward. The delivery was so stiff that it would not have been made any worse if there was someone there on screen holding up a board with the words on it for all of us to see. If the horses had the choice of being in this film they would have refused on the grounds that it would be career killing. To say this film had a plot is preposterous, the storyline is so thin and pathetic that a 5 year old could have written it in 5 minutes (in fact a 5 year old would have put more imagination into it!). The poor horses they dragged into this film were the only things worth looking at. This film has no redeeming features whatsoever, fortunately I got it for £3 but that's £3 too much and also is about £2.50 more than the budget for the whole film. I have just lost 1 hour and 25 minutes of my life that I won't get back only softened by the fact it's Boxing Day and the Baileys helped to soften the blow. To even put this film in front of a toddler is an insult to their intelligence. This film should be held up as an example to acting students everywhere as to how not to do it. Curiously, on the cover of the dvd there is a man with a dog, a person who looks like she might be the old woman in the film, the daughter and another woman who doesn't even feature in the film, neither does the dog for that matter. Also the cover gives the impression that they are surrounded by pine trees, there's snow on the ground and it is snowing.Read more ›

Well what can I say? Well just that really, what can I say? I've never see anything like it before thank god! The acting is nothing like I've ever seen. It's almost if they are waiting to be moved into position before each scene. There are two men who are meant to be horse rustlers who are quite funny but they don't seem to fit the film. It's a bit like watching a cross between a modern day little house on the prairie and scooby doo. If it was any slower it would be going backwards. The horses looked liked they'd been threatened with the slaughter house if they didn't take part. There's one bit where a dapple grey horse did some tricks. Keep your eye on the dust, it has more life than the actors. However a rocking chair moved which was rather exciting. If the kids on this film were mine I'd call social services on myself just to get rid! Honest to god I've never seen anything like it. I'm not sure how much these people had to pay to be in this farce of a film but they robbed themselves. Avoid this film with every fiber of your being and give the money to charity. An hour and 25 minutes of this and I feel I've given to charity!

Combine everything in the one star reviews and that's what I'd like to say but I don't want to waste more of my time pondering this film.

I'm actually considering whether I should even take this to Oxfam because it means some poor soul will end up thinking they've picked up a Christmas bargain only to lose an hour and a half of their life to this "TV movie". (Actually, I think calling it that may be an insult to TV movies.)

On balance I'm going to take it to Oxfam because at least that will be £3 to charity. I might suggest they put a quality warning on the box though.

We thought the acting was dreadful and the whole film just so amateurish. The horses were fabulous which was a saving grace!

Have to agree with everything the first reviewer said and also add that it is so s-l-o-w! It may only be 85 mins long, but it becomes tedious viewing and after 50mins I nearly gave up cos my mind started to wander and I just wanted it to hurry up and end! I give two stars for the gorgeous scenery, but it's not one I will be watching again in a hurry!

Delivery was fine. I bought 2 copies, 1 for my daughters and 1 to give as a gift to their horse-mad friends (all 5 - 7 years). Watched it myself first to check it was suitable. Oh boy. Everything about it is so slow, from the opening shots right through to the end. Beautiful scenery and horses but very thin plot and wooden acting. Plus I was hugely irritated by the lack of manners throughout the film - spent a lot of time muttering under my breath, adding 'please' and 'thank you' and 'don't be so disrespectful/ungrateful' and many times that was for the adults! I know, I'm really sad but I want my kids to pick up good habits, not bad ones! I just can't give the film as a gift when I can barely give it house room myself. If you want a lovely horse film, buy Flicka (the version with Alison Lohman) and if you like it, Flicka 2 is equally good.
