If, like me, you expected this to be merely another pleasant Christmas album from Libera, you’re in for a very pleasant surprise. It is true that barely a Christmas has gone by over the past five years or so without an album or EP being produced by this amazing boys’ group but this really is something else. On Christmas Carols with Libera, you will find new arrangements of old favourites alongside new and little-known Christmas songs all performed with an enthusiasm and energy, remarkable even by Libera’s own high standards. From the high energy performance and skilful arrangement of Ding Dong Merrily On High to the emotive Poor Little Jesus, this album is straight from Libera’s top drawer. To put things in perspective, this is on a par with their Hope CD of a couple of years ago, which was, until now, my favourite album. Make no mistake, this album will be playing in our household when Twelfth Night is but a distant memory. Christmas or not, this is Libera at their very, very best and an absolute must for fans of Libera and quality music.

Having followed this amazing boys choir since they began and collecting every CD available I was really looking forward to this new Christmas carol CD. As expected the boys are on top form. Every song is beautifully presented both vocals and musical arrangement are excellent. I shall be enjoying this CD for many years to come I am sure.
Seeing the boys perform live is on my bucket list so hopefully this will happen soon.
The only thing I would say is that many new CDs when bought from Amazon seem to give a free download for mobile and other devices. I was hoping this album would provide this service.
Anyway, that is just a small point. The album is great and well worth buying. Enjoy!

My first reaction when I saw that Libera were releasing yet another christmas album with much the same song list as their previous christmas albums was "Oh no! Not another christmas album".

However, after reading the previous reviewer's comments I decided to buy it, and I am very glad I did.

The new arrangements for all the songs are superb, and together with the wonderful soloists, make this the most exciting and enjoyable Libera release for years, and quite different to previous versions.

Robert Prizeman and the boys continue to produce the world-class goods!
