Olive is a Yoga teacher and runs her Health studio. After struggling in her younger years with her weight she's now at a place with herself that she feels comfortable. But being slim isn't the key to happiness and all though she is comfortable is she truly happy??? And when her high school crush returns back home and open's up a CANDY shop across from her yoga studio her limits are pushed!!!
Hank has return back home and opened his own CANDY store which is made even more better when he discovers who is just across the road from him. Olive the girl he wanted in high school but never had the guts to tell her. But his return just seems to be rubbing Olive up the wrong way.
Hank is just as enticing as the sweet treats he makes in his shop. Can Olive resist this sweet temptation!!
Christmas Candy is a delicious novella with the perfect combination of ingredients to make it a beautiful sweet, festive read.
It is quirky, fun and put a smile on my face. It has laugh out loud moments as well as some seriously hot sweet action.
I would Highly Recommend this read and author so grab your favourite sweet treat, get comfortable and lose yourself in this festive read.
'"Let's get this over with. I don't want to be here any longer than necessary." With that, she crosses her arms over her chest and stares me down as if she'd just challenged me to a duel. Such a little tiger. I can't stop the smile that spreads across my face as I step toward her, invading her space and catching the vanilla scent of her lotion. Her breath hitches as I lean towards her and her gaze darts to my lips.
"So, what would you like to taste first?"'
Christmas Candy was absolutely perfect without the overused saccharine sweet template, as most of these holiday reads fall victim to, this story had a wonderful balance of Christmas nostalgia, sweetness, comedy and sass. It reminded me of those old Doris Day and Rock Hudson movies, where the characters seem to dislike one another intensely, a feud ongoing creating the laughs but underneath all the tension you know they're ready to tear each others clothes off, or rather a much more racy x-rated version.
Celia knows how to employ her writing talents to get the most of out a short story. Both Hank and Olive are absolutely delightful and Celia manages to make us care about these two characters by the time chapter two rolls around. They're fun, they have insecurities, they hurt, trust, they love and both enjoy a sweet tooth and a sexual tension that would melt the panties of a nun. It's a light read, so if you love festive fun with a sexy sweet hero and a lovely fiesty heroine and need a wee pick-me-up after some dark angsty reads then definitely choose this one.
Olive and Hank, who tell the book through dual points of view, have such an incredible chemistry, despite starting off the book with a more hate / tense style relationship being opposites in their careers; Olive maintaining a healthy lifestyle with her yoga classes and Hank with his tempting candy store (and also based on their pasts). Their history is explained in just enough detail to fill you in as a reader as to why they are the way they are in the present, despite a number of years having passed since being in high school together. Obviously, being such a short book and set over literally a few days, you do have to be open to instant attraction / fast developing feelings to fully enjoy this book but their shared history does help give the relationship some foundations.
Christmas Candy is a well written, short, light-hearted sweet romance with a fast pace. The pace and time frame works given the characters have some history, albeit brief. There is just enough of a plot with some steamy romance scenes and some drama to keep things interesting but is very to the point in terms of the storyline (no unnecessary padding out). There is a very sweet HEA and epilogue that jumps a little into the future to finish wrapping up Olive and Hank’s story.
Overall, I really enjoyed this light hearted quick festive read and would definitely recommend it!

This is a sweet holiday story. Olive teaches yoga classes, she was a heavier girl in high school with a sweet tooth. Olive had a crush on track star Hank. Hank never seemed to notice Olive in school to her knowledge, but he crushed on her secretly as she did him. After being gone for a few years, Hank opens a candy store across from her studio, Olive fights the attraction, but Hank is determined to make her his This is a well written, short story with a HEA. ★★ 4.5 STARS ★★
The two characters are perfect for each other. Olive is really sassy and I loved her conflict with the sweet shop.
Hank is a man who knows exactly what he wants and is happy to play dirty to get it.
