If you have read Cowboy's Match is will certainly add to your enjoyment of reading Christmas with Angel. If you haven't had a chance to read it, never fear, Christmas with Angel will stand alone just fine.
The Chemistry and sizzle between Cole and Lacey is most certainly still there. They are facing their biggest challenge yet. Christmas with the in-laws that kept them apart with lies and secrets. The tension is thick and may be a threat to their relationship.
Then something dramatic happens and Lacey finds herself in danger. I'm not going to tell you what happens but I will tell you my heart was racing and my fingers turning the page just as quickly as possible. I felt Lacey's fear and concern and Cole's desperation. I read this story in one setting. There was no way I was putting my Kindle down until I knew what was going to happen to Lacey.
This is a fairly quick read with just the right amount of hot and steamy scenes, drama, mystery, romance, and a nice dose of Christmas spirit.
I can't wait to read more about Cole's family at the Last Chance Ranch. I'm sure Lexi Post has a fabulous storyline in store for them. I will impatiently be awaiting the next release by Lexi Post. It is sure to be a great read!
I was given the opportunity to read this great story so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Christmas with Angel.
Cole is trying to keep the peace between his now finance an his parents but he doesn't understand that it's hard for Lacey to forgive them for what they did to her 8 yrs ago. They blamed her for the fire an made Cole break up with her. Now they are together again going to get married but Lacey just can't believe Cole doesn't get how she feels that she wants to spend Christmas with just him.
Cole also runs a ranch for abused animals. He takes in horses that have been beaten . He took in a beautiful white horse that Cole gave to Lacey named Angel...hence the name of the book. Christmas Angel..she is scared of men but she took right to Lacey.
Now there are twist an turns this is about Cole, Lacey an Angel, the man that beat Angel was her owner but Cole was able to save her now the man wants her back he ca,e to steal her.
Cole an Lacey had a falling out Cole left for the fire department without saying anything to Lacey. She was hurt so she decided to take Angel for a ride. She noticed the four wheeler was in the barn didn't exactly know why it was there, figured Cole just forgot to move it.
She saddles up Angel doesn't realize that there is danger ahead for her. She rides out an someone starts shooting at her she is scared not only for herself but for her horse Angel. Lacey is in for a fight for her life an her horse.
She rides for her life an takes Angel up a steep incline trying to hide from the shooter. She gets off Angel an hides an prays Angel gets away. This gets so interesting an scary she wants to shoot but she doesn't want him to find her an shoot her. He wants Angel back, Angel runs when Lacey tells her to get away. Angel runs to another place a young girl sees her she feeds her an then they go back down the mountain that's when the young girl finds Lacey. She helps her by shooting at the man trying to kill her.
Cole comes home after his shift is over he doesn't find Lacey at home . He heads out to the barn hoping she is there but no luck. He walks out in the yard an finds the truck an horse trailer an knows who it is. He takes off after Lacey after he sees the horse an Lacey gone. He loves her so much he can't loose her.
Can't say much more this is an awesome book. Was given it as an ARC for an honest review. Lexi is awesome. Couldn't put this down read all of it.
I was so happy to find out that the main characters of this story are Cole Hatcher and Lacey Winters. If you've read “Cowboy's Match” from the “Poker Flat Series”, you are already familiar with this couple. They are both incredible, lovable characters – individually and also together! If you haven't read it, you should. It's awesome! But you'll also be able to slip comfortably into this Christmas novella. The main difference is that they're already an engaged couple at the beginning of this book.
Besides being a fireman, Cole also runs a ranch – the “Last Chance Ranch”, as a rescue ranch for horses that have been abused. He takes them in, gives them a whole lot of love, tends to any injuries, and if possible, tries to find new homes for them where they'll be appreciated. Angel is one of those horses. Her previous owner used to beat her terribly, and she has awful scars. The only person she's really warmed up to is Lacey – she's still shies away from all men.
As this story opens, it's right before Christmas. Lacey and Cole are at the ranch, along with a couple of Cole's cousins who are staying there. They are supposed to go to Cole's mother's house for Christmas dinner. Lacey really doesn't want to go, because Cole's mother doesn't like her and is trying to fix him up with some other women. Cole says that since they're engaged, it's time for Lacey to bury the hatchet and try to get along with his mother. So the holiday isn't getting started off in the warm and fuzzy way that they'd like it to. Cole is working a double overnight shift before Christmas day, and when he gets home they're supposed to hit the road. But... while he is away, some things happen at the ranch Christmas morning. Bad things, and it's especially not good for Angel. This is definitely a Christmas where nothing is going right.
Besides having two wonderful characters as H/H, this is a really interesting story. The intimate moments between Cole and “Racy Lacey” start out right from the gate and are gloriously hot. The action that happens on Christmas day while Cole is away is suspenseful and engrossing. And Angel, well, you just can't help but love her and want the best for her. New characters are introduced – Cole's two cousins, Logan and Trace, and also some neighbors to the ranch. These characters will be the ones involved in Lexi Post's new series, “Last Chance Series” (Yes, the “Poker Flat Series” will still be continuing also, fortunately!) So there's a lot going on here!
If I had to come up with a negative, it would be that there's not a whole lot of Christmas stuff that goes on in the story. It just so happens that all these different things are coming to a head right at that time. But it's still a great story and one you won't want to miss if you love cowboys and horses!
Lacey Winters… now here is a lady who knows how to keep her man interested, she had me laughing at her choice of lingerie. All she needs to do now is deal with a soon to be MIL who is intent on removing her from her sons life, while staying alive to marry Cole.
Cole and “Racey” Lacey really know how to heat things up in Christmas with Angel. Cole has to convince Lacey that his family is not all bad. Lacey loves them all but the Monster-In-Law. Can these two come together to make this Christmas a special one? I found myself saying to Lacey, “Lacey remember no on looks good in prison orange.” LOL!
Supporting character’s even though there were few, I found them interesting enough for me to purchase more of Lexi Post books. I am very curious about one character her name is Whisper. This character has a story to tell. I hope we get it.
This plot has WOW power. I was thinking Christmas with Angel was a family complicated romance with a spicy edge, boy I was wrong. The plot twist had me sitting up taking in every detail. Lexi Post gives us a story with a bit of suspense. I can’t wait to pick up another Lexi Post book.
