Ephesians 6 vs 12.
I have no doubt that through prayer (a simple sincere conversation with God).God's hand will work with this book and change your life as he has mine. Colours have never been so beatiful, love and life have never flowed as abundantly. May his force be with you in your journey, remember ask and you shall reieve. His mercy is infinite, and his love is greater than we can possibly hope to comprehend.
Buy this book, you will never regret it, only to buy more to give to those who you love and care about.
One God, One love, One hope.
"A War between Saint and Satan. And it is such a bloody one that the cruellest war ever fought by men will be seen as but sport and child's play compared to this. It is a spiritual war that you shall read of; not a history of what was fought many ages past and is now over, but of a war now going on-the tragedy is presant with us. And it is not taking place at the farthest ends of the world; it concerns you and everyone who reads of it. The stage on which this war is fought is every man's own soul. There are no neutrals in this war. The whole world is engaged in the quarrel, either for God against Satan, or for Satan against God."
An excerpt from the authors original forward written in 1655 by William Gurnall.
If you want or more to the point if you need (and we do all need), the tough, no nonsence guide to sticking to God like glue and how to bat for his team effectively, how to understand and deal with all those underhand tricks the devil is always pushing upon us. If you want strength and support and a reminder about why you're a Christian, why reading the bible is so important and how to get the most from being with God, please, please get this book. I am certain you won't regret it.
Although marketed as an abridgement, most of the content has been retained and the modernization is really very good. Gurnall's writing is certainly on the lively end and, like Thomas Watson, he is full of illustrations as he meditates on Ephesians 6:10-18. There are helpful headings and subheadings to guide you through the contents. He works through each of the pieces of armour in turn to consider what it means for the Christian. It is probably best digested in modest chunks given how much there is here to think about. You will be directed to Christ, warned of Satan's tactics to deceive both believers and unbelievers, and challenged to consider whether a life without Christ makes sense.
Volume 2 covers the soldier's belt of sincerity and his shoe of peace.
This version was produced under the auspices of David Wilkerson who had been greatly encouraged by the original and wanted to make it more widely accessible. It is published in three volumes and the cover has been revamped relatively recently.
