Writing under the name of Chris Deane, the author studied geology, physics and computer science at the University of Birmingham before moving to Keele University to obtain a postgraduate certificate in education. On leaving university he taught physics in Midlands high schools.
In the early days of computer education in schools Chris become one of the first teachers in the country to obtain the RSA certificate for curriculum leaders in information technology. With fifteen years experience as a head of ICT he successfully managed the transition of students' learning from the days of the BBC microcomputer through several generations of personal computers. He also held the post of school examination secretary and marked GCSE examination papers.
For the last 10 years Chris has been writing digital learning resources for ICT which have been adopted by schools, colleges and training providers worldwide. He has also broadened his teaching experience by working as a visiting tutor in the Department of Education at Birmingham City University.
Over the past 12 months Chris has been working on a range of ebooks for the home computer user and ICT examination courses.
His interests focus on the enjoyment of the natural environment and landscape through walking, reading and photography.
