This book is really great. I also got the listen along on audible, which I thoroughly recommend. This is the kind of book I need to listen to/ read every now and again to remind myself to cultivate an attitude of gratitude!

I've just read this Christian book on gratitude in one sitting. So, so helpful and challenging. It finishes with a 30 day devotional, so it can be ongoingly transformational.

Highly recommended

If I wrote a book that contained tips on how to have a good attitude in life, and then half way through the reader found out I had a belief in dragons, which I then kept referencing, I doubt they'd be best pleased. It's such an insult to not state that immediately and show some respect for people who don't believe. If I wrote a book on life attitudes and then mentioned that my belief in reincarnated Elvis, my credibility would go right out the window. That's how I view this book. Deceptive indeed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Choosing Gratitude doesn't come naturally....but this book has me looking for Joy instead of whining! 15 April 2016

This is a book you will read over and over again! So much good information! The book itself has short chapters packed full of meat! - stuff to really get you thinking and changing the way your view things. This book makes for a really "light" homework bible study with a group of friends. There is a 30 day devotional in the back section that you can use as a homework guide containing questions/or activities to get you leaning more in the direction of finding joy. This book will not be packed away but I'll continue to reference it as a reminder.

5.0 out of 5 stars Learning to have more JOY because of this book! 19 Aug. 2016

Wow, this book has been amazing so far! We purchased this for our ladies Bible study group and are loving the discussions that it brings. It is such a great reminder that being thankful is really the secret to the Christian's joy in every day life. Life can get so discouraging, but focusing on God's blessings of salvation, materials things, love, etc. helps us "be happy." I know that I have realized how much I forget to thank God for. If you are looking for some encouragement and trying to have a life filled with more joy, then this book is for you. I can't recommend it enough!

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read book 11 Sept. 2016
By Tammy - Published on Amazon.com

This book is one of my all time favorites as it transforms our minds to focus on "All" the areas of life we need to give thanks to our Lord and Savior who richly blesses our lives. We live in a pretty selfish, negative world where our hearts and minds can get downhearted. God wants our focus to be different than that of the world, not closing our lives off to reality, but to see Him at work during our times of trials and suffering!!! I have done this study three different times with different people in my life and it is always refreshing and uplifting to my soul!

5.0 out of 5 stars A breath of fresh air 2 Nov. 2013
By Monica Bass - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
As the subtitle suggests, this book connects the dots between gratitude and Christian joy. I already knew the two are related, but I was challenged through the book to recognize specifically on what points they connect--namely humility and an outward focus. Through these pages the Lord worked in my heart to show me how ingratitude had worked its way into my life in ways I had not recognized. Subtle expectations I hadn't identified and buried pride surfaced.

It's easy to get so wrapped up in ourselves--even in our service to others--that we become burdened and inward focused. Choosing Gratitude highlights how effective gratitude is to usher us into the presence of God. It enables us to break away from ourselves and renew our joy.

I read the book scattered through more sittings than I normally like, catching several pages during my lunch break or before bed. But each time I opened it, the book was a breath of fresh air--an encouragement to experience joy by choosing gratitude.

My favorite part of the book, however, was the thirty-day gratitude journal in the back. It was the icing on the cake for an already helpful book. You can begin this gratitude journal even as you read the book at the same time.

This is a book everyone should read. Many times we take the little things for granted and reading this will open your eyes to see how we fall short, when it comes to being grateful.
