Product description

Sun Choir is a full-length album written for and featuring the children of the Light of Love Children's Home by Edinburgh based art-pop collective, MARRAM. 60% of all profits from the sale of this album go to the charity Scottish Love In Action, which clothes, educates, feeds and provides medical care for destitute children in India through funding the Light Of Love Children's Home. Buying directly from the charity's Amazon account means they get more money per sale. Sun Choir features contributions from Jarvis Cocker, doseone (Anticon), Owen Pallett (Arcade Fire), White Hinterland and Scottish folk singer Margaret Bennett, alongside specially composed lyrics by Scottish writers and poets, including Irvine Welsh, Alexander McCall Smith, Valerie Gillies, and Tom Leonard. The 'Sagrada Familia' of post-rave art pop, Sun Choir is an explosive and maximalist mesh of choirs, orchestras and drums featuring more than 1000 voices, musicians, and singers from around the world. This album was produced as part of the Everything Is New project to raise funds for charity. The goal of the Everything is New project is to empower the children of the Light of Love Children's Home, many of whom have been rescued from bonded labour, child prostitution, homelessness and abject poverty. www.everythingisnewproject.com
