It's not a wet and slushy romance but it shows how the two matched people grow to care for each other, in a very different world, where they could and should by all accounts, not want one another.
I won't say any more except the characters are wonderfully realistic and rounded.
I love Tasmins character as she is a very determined, strong female who won't allow herself to be pushed around.
The chocolatiers ghost shows us what happened after their marriage and tells of the things that haunt William, Tasmins husband.
Both books are very well worth reading and are written very well indeed.

I still love Tasmin as the main character, and Ailiani and Magda are both good additions to the story as is William, but I guess I kind of miss the more light-hearted atmosphere of the first book. Still, I am still keeping this one in my favorites collection so it is definitely worth buying and reading if you liked the "Chocolatier's Wife."
This book? Not so much. While I still like the characters, the new character name for one character fro the original book seemed to come out of nowhere--I literally thought she was a new character for about a third of the book. Very distracting.I kept wondering where their original friend and shop assistant had gone. The plot felt rambling and slow-moving, not to mention a bit confusing, and just never gripped me. I know a book isn't a winner for me when I keep drifting away to check social media, or to watch a movie, or (and this is the most telling of all) do housework. The story did eventually get off the ground and move a bit more, but I still felt it needed some editing and pacing. Not a terrible story, but it simply wasn't compelling.
William and Tasmin are well on their way to happily ever after and making a success of their chocolate shop. Bonny is imprisoned and Andrew has taken off.
Ghosts, spirits and misplaced souls populate the air and evil gathers on the wind.
Another mystery is afoot.
Once again, author Cindy Lynn Speer creates an amazing world full of magic and murder.
You must suspend your disbelief and immerse yourself totally in the tale.
Enjoy the telling along with a delicious cup of hot chocolate.
