THE CHOCOLATE LOVERS' CLUB brings together four very different women with one thing in common: they can't resist chocolate...
Lucy Lombard can't resist it - rich, creamy, sweet, delicious chocolate. For her there's nothing it won't cure and she's not alone. Sharing her passion are three other addicts: Autumn, Nadia and Chantal. Together they form The Chocolate Lovers' Club. They meet in their sanctuary, Chocolate Heaven, as often as they can, and with a cheating boyfriend who promises he'll change, a flirtatious boss, a gambling husband and a loveless marriage, there's always plenty to discuss!See all Product description

This book had so many good points, it was wonderfully written and it opened up delicate subjects which we all know exist behind closed doors but we do not want to talk about them, the main one for me in this book was the subject of gambling and how easy it was to get addicted to and so much more, this shows this is no free and easy book but one which will certainly get you thinking about the hard times in your life and want friends just like Lily, Chantel, Autumn and Nadia.
This truly is a wonderful book and one I would happily recommend, join Lily and her friends as they not only sort out each other's problems or simply put a helping hand out while their addiction of chocolate supports them through the good times and the bad,
A wonderful book which I am very happy to recommend.
It was fine, and sort of what I was looking for at the time.
- Nice easy reading
- Some likeable characters
- Mostly pretty well paced
- Easy to relate to
- Amusing in a sort of 'Bridget Jones way' i.e. everything sort of goes wrong, but works out through 'girl power'
- The characterisation wasn't brilliant
- Fairly predictable
- The sheer amount of going on about chocolate got boring
- The sort of nod to bulimia, but not giving any seriousness to it makes it undermining to people who may suffer
- The biggest plot peak happened in the middle section of the book, rather than towards the end
- Not brilliantly written.
All in all, an okay book. It filled a hole between reading some rather heavier non fiction, but I wouldn't exactly recommend it.
This is the start of a series, following four women who make up the chocolate lovers club. I loved this idea - a club for women to have a good old chat and eat chocolate. What's not to like?! The women themselves were also really likeable and I enjoyed how we heard from different viewpoints. At times I was laughing out loud, particularly at the yogurt incident!
I loved this and read it in a day. I'm looking forward to reading the rest in the series (The Chocolate Lovers Diet, The Chocolate Lovers Christmas and The Chocolate Lovers Wedding - due out this year). Enjoy!
