It wasn't a wonderful day when I purchased this for my 4 year old grandson and granddaughter. Neither liked it very much and I am afraid I has to agree.

5.0 out of 5 stars DEALING WITH DEMONS 8 April 2014
By Barbara Mojica - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
The author begins by telling the reader that he has developed a new process to empower children to face their faces. Nicknamed "Draw Me A Monster", he provides the website for parents who are interested in investigating the technique. The bright illustrations are large and colorful. The young female protagonist wears a cape reminiscent of Superman or Supergirl. She encounters several different monsters and delineates the method for getting rid of them, whether it be light, laughter, jumping on the bed or playing loud music. As long as you are brave and have no fear, you will be victorious. Most young children have a fear of the unknown. I like this superhero approach and the fact that the protagonist is a brave female superhero. This book and the author's program should be effective with preschoolers and children in the early elementary grades. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Conquering childhood fears and demons 25 Jan. 2014
By Amyra W. Henry - Published on Amazon.com

Kudos on a beautifully written and illustrated book that effectively addresses various feelings and typical fears of children ranging in age from early childhood to early elementary school grades. The author has created imaginative monsters and a bold girl who ultimately becomes empowered to confront and cope with her fears. As a school social worker, I find that this book will be an excellent resource for the teaching of concepts in the social-emotional curriculum. The narrative lends itself well to reading aloud both with individual students and in small groups, as well as for the use of fun, creative role play. The illustrations would also be appealing for leafing through for silent reading. A great book both for home and school use!

5.0 out of 5 stars Teaching abundant thinking for kids as a key for their happiness ! 26 Jan. 2014
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com

This is what this beautiful intelligent writing is all about for me as a parent and the drawings simply light it up.
After reading the book with my 6 year old son I realized how important it is that I also bring an abundant approach myself to the emotional issues that he is confronted with. Thank you for reminding me that.
I would like to recommend this book to those who wish to teach themselves and their children how to be vital and positive when dealing with troubling issues in life.

3.0 out of 5 stars It was OK. 28 Mar. 2014
By Susan - Published on Amazon.com

It was ok. If I was stuck in a doctor's office and needed something to read to a child. Something about the language did flow easily. It was hard to get a cadence. The pictures were very busy. It seemed that a child that was overwhelmed, too much stimulus, would find this book also too much stimulus as opposed to a nice safe predicable read about how wonderful that child was.

5.0 out of 5 stars Watch out Monsters! 24 Mar. 2014

What a great book and a great idea for overcoming fears. The cute illustrations add to this wonderful book that teaches all of us how to deal with fears. Sometimes imaginations can take on a little bit of a sinister meaning and this book helps children to deal with those. Great job and great read for kids!
