this is a cute bedtime trinket for children. it contains well known childrens stories from all over the world, including japan, china, germany ect. the stories range from well known proverbs to fairytales. my five year has enjoyed listening to the sometimes strange but always amusing stories, especially the one about the boy called tikki tikki tembo.

Very poorly written and utter rubbish. I've persisted, and about halfway through is a story about two Chinese brothers. One has a short name, the other a long one. When the boy with the short name falls in a well, he's rescued, but it takes so long to relay the message that the brother with the the long name has fallen in, that he downs. And forever after all Chinese babies are given short names. I kid you not, utter rubbish. I've not given it one star because I'm still going, and the sound of my voice soothes my son to sleep, but the stories are poor.

My grand-son Jason was sick recently and enjoyed hearing some of these stories during the day. As they were on my Kindle I was able to turn on the story telling feature and not get tired reading to him myself. All the stories were new to him and different.
