The stories here are divided into sections: The true meaning of friendship, girls just wanna have fun, being there for each other, special moments, unexpected friends, overcoming obstacles and forever friends.
Each of these has a theme that shines through in the varied tales, which show how the simple concept of friendship takes many forms and touches many people in different ways. There are tales of the losses of friendship, through death or being forced to part; of young friendship and how it shapes lives forever and of those rare times when a person touches your life and remains there forever, always being there if you need them.
I will admit I cried a few times at some of the stories, but others also left me with a smile and a sense of fulfillment. Altogther it is a beautiful collection and I am glad I bought it. Personally I like to dip in and out of the different sections rather than read cover to cover, and this is a book that readily allows that. Perfect for a little pick me up when you need one, or an affirming story to bring out your emotion at times of boredom, I a very glad I bought this book and will no doubt be giving a copy to my best friend in the hope it makes her feel as fulfilled and honoured to have experienced true friendship as I do.
A great addition to the Chicken Soup series and good for any girl from mid teens up (there are some quite emotionally poignant tales of loss here, that may not be suitable for younger readers). I would recommend buying a copy.
