Product description
With 350LM Luminous Flux Output and a Wide Flood 45 Degree Beam Angle this bulb is an ideal replacement for a Halogen bulb which all have a 38 Degree Beam Angle.
This bulb offers 83.3% Energy Saving.
These bulbs contain the most advanced LED chips currently on the market which are OEM for some major brand bulbs which have a superior circuit design (better current regulation and less heat). As a result these bulbs will have significantly less color shift over their life span as the LED’s naturally degrade from use.
At 60mm in length this bulb does fit almost all recessed ceiling light fittings. This bulb is manufactured to ISO9001, CE and RoHS standards. You will know the quality of this product when you hold it in your hand. For domestic use we recommend this Warm White bulb which as per customer feedback is very close in color to a normal Halogen. This bulb is available in Warm, Neutral and Daylight White colours with either 45 or 60 degree Beam Angles and in either Dimmable or Non-Dimmable.

No trace of Deal Guardian - internet search points to shop on the South Coast who denied any knowledge of DG. Result - don't expect too much come back when they fail.
I've gone over to Megaman lamps in the meantime. Will report back in a couple of years!
I love LEDs as they appear to be the answer to energy saving bright effective light. There is one teeny weeny problem - reliability. Low power ones are durable and long lived - high power ones tend to be unreliable over time.
I bought these in Oct 11 (it is now June 13) and two of the lamps have had start up flicker for a month. I await their imminent failure. Not sure what the warranty is, but I'm well outside 12 months, which if the company blanks me (they replaced 1 faulty one on purchase)makes them a poor investment compared to the claimed 35000hrs (in my fifties I half expected these to be the last GU10s I ever bought - I haven't 35K hours left in me!).
However over that time (3hrs a day (conservative))that means they have had about 1800 to 2000hrs of their total 35k - just short of 6% of their life.
Now look at their energy credentials. These lamps have used 43Kw/Hrs over their life, as opposed to 360Kw/hrs for halogens, so that is £5.16 for the LEDs, £43.20 for the Halogens they replaced; a saving of 38.04. Less the cost of replacing the faulty ones at £9 each, thats still a saving of twenty quid over their poor life. I'm basing all this on 12p/Kw/hr (the cheaper end of the tariffs).
Still a good deal, because halogen GU10 are notoriously short-lived.
It would be nice though, if they performed as advertised!
I'll let you know more as things develop.
Tirade
The good points are: cheap for low power GU10's and a good fit in standard ceiling sockets. The main bad point for me is the poor quality of light. I feel that is partly down to the narrow beam angle but I'm no expert. They are described as 45 degree but look much narrower when the beam is viewed in a steam filled bathroom. I will admit the light is quite bright directly below the lamp but the general area from ceiling to about 3 feet below the ceiling is very dull and poorly lit. That might sound like a silly complaint (who cares about that high up in the room?) but it gives the whole room the appearance of being dull and strangely lit. I personally don't like it at all.
I would expect that in places with lots of these bulbs or if they are used to light work tops they probably look fine but as replacements for my ceiling lights, they are not suitable.
In my opinion they are not a good replacement for ceiling GU10's but that obviously conflicts with most other opinions here.
I recently bought two more to use in the flexible "reading light" part of a combined uplighter and reading light.
My partner uses the reading light for sewing and other craft work but said the old halogen bulb got too hot and made it uncomfortable to work for long periods with the bulb close to the work.
These LED bulbs have solved the problem. They are bright enough and run cool so the "too hot" problem has disappeared.
They come on fast but I would not call them instant like an old filament bulb. They're not slow like fluorescent bulbs, but there is just a moment between switch on and maximum light, maybe less than half a second, but it is there.
They are certainly the nearest thing to an equivalent replacement for filament bulbs that I have come across so far. Just wish they were cheaper.
The beam angle of the 3x2W LEDs is nowhere near as broad as the halogens they replaced but the result is that we have a more focussed light over the hob and the small dining table. This is excellent but it has meant we have to use the 27-LED bulbs to fill in the surrounding area, otherwise the kitchen looks as if it is a set in a horror movie, with deep shadows and bright highlights.
Not all is doom and gloom, though, as the quality of the light is superb. I find it much easier to read in this light than I ever did with the brighter halogens. The print on the page comes out sharper and I need less overall light. This, in itself, has made the purchase worthwhile. However, I cannot rate this product higher than 3* for the simple reason that I believe the product description has been hyped. Why do so many companies do this?
My overall impression of these LEDs is that they are probably closer to a 35W halogen than the stated 50W, which is to say, if you want a true 50W halogen equivalent, go for a 9W LED. Or just install the odd extra.
