About the Author

Danny Dreyer, an esteemed running coach, is a former nationally ranked ultramarathon runner. He conducts workshops worldwide and lectures frequently at races and events. He is the coauthor, with Katherine Dreyer, of "ChiRunning "and" ChiWalking."
Katherine Dreyer has more than thirty years of experience in the health, personal growth, and fitness fields. She partners with Danny to coordinate the international ChiRunning, ChiWalking, and ChiLiving programs.

A great running technique, simply explained. I would advise buying this book rather than the other Chi Running book by Danny Dreyer, as this has more illustrations. I also found youtube clips helpful. I'm not a hugely experienced runner, but this book really made me concentrate on my form. It's also helped my running become more meditative. I had done a bit of Qi Gong before, and I think that helped my sense of the basic c-shape standing pose, but it isn't necessary.After my first marathon I had a couple of injuries. I rested and read this book. Since then I've done another marathon and an ultra, all without injury. I'm sure that is in large part because this book.

Got this at discount which worked out cheaper than buying the entire package (inc dvd etc) so I got to check it out. It does sometimes refer to track on the DVD or to the Chi-running book but enough information in this book to get one marathon ready. Having Cathriona McKiernan's endorsement of the book makes it a no-brainer.

Chi running is an intriguing way to run-- lean forward from the pivot point of the ankle joints-- so putting it all in together in the context of the marathon makes sense. And great service as always from Aphrohead.
