Make waves with the most stylish super-compact digital camera ever seen. The Splash by Che-ez! crams a remarkable specification into a light but tough, metal ultra-compact body.
Taking images is simplicity itself. Choose fine or normal and record upto 219 images at 640x480 (0.3 megapixel) resolution. Unique to the Splash is the detachable flash module, if the shooting conditions need lightning up, clip on the flash and fire away.
The Splash also features an excellent real time video record: nearly a minute of video can be shot at 320x240 resolution. As the video is saved in Avi format, it can be viewed on most PCs in seconds, perfect for emailing to friends and family.
But thats not all the Splash can do, and in the space left theres barely time to mention the self timer, dual photography modes of macro and landscape, web cam mode, automatic standby, choice of two colours or four hour battery life from a AAA battery. Phew!

The Software that comes with the camera I feel is very good. It really is tiny enough to not even notice you have it on you until you need it!!
Obviously the picture quality is going to be limited, its never going to be as good quality as my other camera, but thats not the point, my other one was 6 times the price and about 6 times the size! For excellent quality something bigger and more expensive will be required, but for a camera that is tiny enough to always have on you, and still get pretty good pictures, its excellent!!
The camera is very good at indoor shots even without the flash, and feels good quality with its aluminium case.
What are you waiting for, go get it!!!
My camera arrived within days and I was eager to try it out. I had some problems with loading the software but that was mainly due to my flicking through the instructions too quickly in my eagerness to try it out.
After overcoming this problem I went on to use the camera. How simple it was. The picture quality is really good for a small camera and even the video option is quite good to use and the quality too is good for a camera of this size. Outdoor photos were great and the quality of indoor photos is good with the flash at night.
I haven't worked out what I'm supposed to do to turn it into a webcam but my instinct tells me that a purchase of software is needed for its conversion.
All in all a good buy and the number of pictures it holds is great for holidays. (NB the battery for the flash was expensive but lasts for ages)
The camera itself has quite a large amount of memory for something so small. It can take 220 pictures in normal mode (but don't bother - awful picture quality), 155 in fine mode (not bad - bit pixel-y but OK) & 54 seconds in video mode (no sound but picture quality's pretty good). I haven't had to change the batteries yet either, so it looks like you won't have to buy new ones each time you use it, unlike other digital camera's I've had. It also has a self timer mode with bleeping count down, which is useful. The software that comes with it was easy to install & quite good, too. On the minus side, the build quality seems a little iffy. The battery catch is a bit loose & the lens attachement seems fragile, so I wouldn't recommend dropping it! The instructions also seem a little vague in places but nothing I haven't been able to work out.
Overall, if you're looking for a small, fun "point & click" camera with bags of memory, then this is the one you need. If picture quality is high on your list of priorities however, I'd look else where. Nevertheless, good value for your money.
Quite a lot, actually. The picture quality is best if taken outside in the sun, where the colours are captured very well.
There is some underexposure if you snap your subjects in front of a bright background, so it is best to use the flash in these situations.
Dont think about taking close-ups(< 20cm) with this camera, though - even in good light you end up with extreme blurring. Having said that, I don't think that's what this camera was designed for.
The standard of video is quite good if a little blurry when you are moving the camera around, but at nearly a minutes' worth of capture, this is the longest of anything I have seen in any camera around this price.
The casing quality is not quite as good as I expected. From the pictures, I thought the casing was metal. It turned out to be metal effect plastic.
The software is very easy to install, and the USB link very convenient. I tried the camera with some webcam software and it can give 30fps with good image quality.
Overall, a fun little gadget that will keep you entertained for hours on end.
