About the Author

Former national newspaper sports reporter Adam has covered cricket and football around the country for the past two years. He is 27 and lives by the sea in Portsmouth. He really does love Sachin Tendulkar, Irish stout and heavily-salted pub snacks. Not necessarily in that order. A writer with an eye for the humorous and the offbeat, this is his first book.

I was slightly disappointed with this book I'm afraid. Having read the authors book about sport on the radio which I loved I had high hopes of this one. However I really struggled. There are far too many bracketed sentences trying to explain the authors attempts at humor. If you have to explain a joke it generally isn't funny. Overall I found it a little bit empty of story I'm afraid.

I was recommended this book by a friend and it is a great read. Some very funny stories in there just about everyday life and growing up. I particularly loved the crazy brother (who reminds me of my own) and the mums name incident is priceless. This is a very easy read to the end and I would highly recommend for anyone who has spent time in whites.

I usually don't write reviews, but this book was very funny and nice.

Based on a childhood dream to play sport with a true sports hero, whether you like cricket or not, this story is written in a pretty humble way and the author doesn't attempt to be 'cool' at any cost. A journey full of misadventures and epic grotesque moments. I have the impression this guy could have written about anything else and still be truely funny and entertaining.

Looking forward to read the new book, which I can see will soon be published!
