About the Author

I'm a wife, a mom, and a dog lover. I'm also a taxi, problem fixer, extreme multi-tasker, and my kids’ biggest fan in anything they do. I’m married to my high school sweetheart... how cool is that? Margaritas and sarcasm make me happy. Chocolate makes that happiness grow exponentially. People who make me laugh are my favorite kind of people. I believe Karma is a b*%ch who slaps back hard and mean people suck. I'm California born and raised, and I love the beach but hate the sand. And, of course, I believe Starbucks makes any day better. I’m the author of The Acceptance Series and Chasing Cassidy with more books soon to come.

Reviewing on behalf of Relentless book chics ramblings and reviews

I was a little nervous about reading this as I loved the Acceptance series so much and I didn’t want to compare this story to it. I didn’t need to worry though as the characters in this are the type that you can’t help falling in love with and the way they are developed leaves you in no doubt that they are unique.

Cassidy is so sweet but she had such a traumatic childhood that she feels she is unable to be loved. She was physically and verbally abused by her father from the age of 6 so her home life was miserable but her saving Grace was her best friends, the Stafford twins, Zack and Rylee.
From the moment Zack saw Cassidy he made a vow to befriend her. Over the years, that friendship turned to love and after 12 years, it was finally the day she would become his wife.

Cassidy has lots of insecurities because of the horrendous things she’s had to listen to from her father over the years and she doesn’t feel worthy of Zack so on her wedding day, which is supposed to be the happiest day of her life, she does what she thinks is best for him, she runs.
Zack is heart –broken, not just because she ran but also for the reason she ran which made him angry. He follows Cassidy to prove to her that their love is worth fighting for and she is the best person on earth for him and he loves her with all his heart.

With some help from their friends and family, Zack sets out to show Cassidy how much he loves her and how worthy she is to be part of his life. Cassidy has a few surprises of her own and there are also a few comical moments with his sister Rylee involving some of Zack’s friends which we’ll read about in a future book.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a fairytale romance and enjoys a story that touches your heart.

I received a complimenty copy of this book through Crazy Cajun Book Addicts for an honest review.
Firstly I want to say WOW!!
After reading the Acceptance Series by D. Kelly I was well aware of the emotional ride I was about to take and I was only 9% in when I reached for the tissues so make sure you have them to hand.
Cassidy definitely hasn't had the easiest and happiest life growing up with parents that verbally and physically abused her, but the one thing she did have were two of the best friends anyone could wish for in Zack and Rylee even though their lives were worlds apart and they came from a very prestigious family these 3 were inseparable. Years later the relationship between Cassidy and Zack becomes more than friendship they are each others soul mates. What Zack doesn't know on their wedding day is that Cassidy's insecurities are causing havoc in her mind and his mother definitely hasn't been helping matters by making Cassidy feel she isn't worthy of his love so she runs. Zack loves Cassidy with everything he has and goes after her but can he make her understand that she is loved and does have a home in his family. Absolutely loved this story and wish I could give it more than five stars D Kelly just seems to know how to pull you into her books with the fabulous characters she creates and I'm so excited to see that we will be getting Rylee's story next think is is definitely one of my favourite reads of 2015.

This is one of those books you HAVE to read. But beware once you start there can be no interruptions, you will not put it down. I read it in one go.

If you read the acceptance series by D Kelly you know how easy it is to get lost in one of her books and this one is no different. I absolutely loved this book. It was heartbreaking in parts, full of romance, angst, hot guys, friendship and love.

I felt like i held my breath the whole way through, when i wasn't trying to talk to the characters. I didn't want to do my usual thing of trying to read as fast as i can to get to the next part. I read it slowly to savor every bit of the book.

This story was exceptionally written. The characters were flawless. The story was truly stunning. The whole book was perfect. It makes you believe this is what love is. Its the art of forgiveness and seeing the whole picture instead of a snapshot.

I truly recommend this book its one you will want to read first.

I give this 5/5 stars and 5/5 for movie moments.

This book was AMAZING! Whatever you read, you have to read this book by D Kelly. I fell in love right from the start of this book and I am so glad I picked it up to read. This story follows Zack and Cassidy, a couple that over the tale you realise despite their backgrounds are two puzzle pieces that were always meant for one another. They are simply put, soul mates. After Cassidy runs from the church on her wedding day, Zack chases after her to ensure she knows just how much she is loved and wanted and this leads to a tale of love, sensuality, forgiveness and acceptance.

'You can't marry trash, Zack. Hell, your mum won't even let you take the trash out'. This is what Cassidy tells Zack when he catches up to her and tries to keep his promise he made when they were children that he would chase after her wherever she went. However my favourite line in the book lets you know just where this book is coming from, 'The way you love so unselfishly is inspiring....You protect the people you love fiercely, including me'.

Since a fateful day when they were six years old and Cassidy moved to the neighbourhood, Cassidy became firm friends with Zack and his twin sister Rylee. From there, all worlds turned upside down and Zack and Cassidy's romance begins while they become more than just friends, but family.

This romance is simply one of the best I have read in a long time. The secondary characters of Rylee, Nick and Pete are crucial and I can't wait to see where D Kelly takes them in her next instalment. At times funny, at times sad but always this story is affectionate and warm. I want to know more and I'm cheering for them all. A great piece of writing and certainly a book to have on your list of ones to read.
