Christmas Eve in Grantchester is a novella prequel to the hugely popular Cambridge Murder Mysteries. A page-turning whodunnit in the tradition of Agatha Christie, Colin Dexter ...
It is Christmas Eve and Professor Elizabeth Green has driven to Grantchester for a walk in the snow with her husband, Sir Gerald Green.
But when they arrive by a snowman near the river, what happens next casts shadows across the meadows for the rest of the day.
If you like whodunnits and mystery fiction without all the gore, this might be the perfect Christmas read for you or a loved one!
This is the best introduction to The Cambridge Murder Mystery Series. The Cambridge Murder Mysteries feature an amateur sleuth Professor Elizabeth Green, and her sidekicks Inspector Abley and grandson, Godric.
And what of Professor Elizabeth Green?...
In her fifties, this female protagonist is quintessentially English. An eccentric professor in her ivory tower, she maintains a sharp wit, yet is flawed by her inability to connect well with people, instead giving off a cold, opinionated and sometimes acerbic air. Though very kind to all animals (dogs, cats and the rest!) - a vegan - and a great gardener, in truth she keeps her friends close, and only lets a few dear people into her world.
This latest murder mystery from Charlot King is a prequel novella to the series which can be read first, or as a stand-alone short story. Bk1 POISON, Bk2 CURSED, Bk3 BLOOD MOON and Bk4 A CHRISTMAS MYSTERY of THE CAMBRIDGE MURDER MYSTERIES are available on Amazon for Kindle and paperback around the world, with Bk5 coming in 2020.
If you like crime fiction, murder mysteries, whodunnits, women sleuths, traditional British detective stories, then you might like Poison, Cursed, Blood Moon and A Christmas Mystery. A page-turning whodunnit in the tradition of Agatha Christie, Colin Dexter, and a murder mystery fuelled by poison in the dark alleys of Cambridge ...
A professor of poisons, Professor Green is determined to find the murderer before there is more death on the cobbles of Cambridge. When the Dean of Bene’t’s College seems to be involved, when other Fellows keep tight-lipped, and even Inspector Abley is spending too much time on the golf course instead of investigating, it feels like the killer will strike again.
Following another grisly murder, a tense Inspector Abley realises he can't solve this crime without Elizabeth. With people dropping like flies and dead bodies increasing in number, Elizabeth's unbridled curiosity embroil this meddling sleuth right in the heart of this mysterious thriller of a case in this historic city.

When the horses fall, the bodies are not far behind under the blood moon...
When horses and boat dwellers are found strewn and lifeless by the river in the early hours of an autumnal morning, is someone trying to send a message? With Inspector Abley still suspended, amateur sleuth Professor Elizabeth Green steps up to help Sergeant Lemon find out what caused this incident on Stourbridge Common, and whether it was someone trying to poison the horses. But just as Sergeant Lemon and Elizabeth Green start to gather evidence, Professor Crowhams at the Institute of Galileo at the university is hit over the head. A hugely unpopular man, he also hates horses.
The plot thickens with a death! And when it turns out that a couple of staff at the Institute of Galileo also live on the boats near where the horses were poisoned, Elizabeth Green wonders if the answer might lie not too in petty academic squabbles and jealousies.
If you like crime fiction, murder mysteries, whodunnits and or women sleuths, then you might like BLOOD MOON, Bk3 of The Cambridge Murder Mysteries (Bk1 POISON and Bk2 CURSED precede this book) Or if you just like a good mystery set in Cambridge with all the quirky peculiarities of the English, then the Cambridge Murder Mysteries might be for you too.

Praise for Charlot King's gripping dystopian futurism book one of the Animal Tales series, about a post-apocalyptic where dogs are centre stage...
"If you have ever read 'Fluke' by James Herbert, then you are forgiven for thinking that 'Woof' was going to be another lovely story of speaking dogs and their merry antics. That is where the likeness ends. Woof is a lot deeper and darker intermingled with laughter and joy and a little bit of sadness at times with a mixture of what the future might hold for the planet Earth. It is well worth reading." The perfect thriller, that will keep you hooked until the end. Full of suspense, Pup, is a book about a man and his transgenic (genetically altered) dog and how they go on the run and 'stick it to the man'. If you like dogs, animals, and like a good page-turner this might be for you!
