A large collection of Mr Brooker's weekly TV review column from The Guardian covering 2000 to 2005. Some of the articles had me crying with laughter (five stars), others simply passed me by.
Each review is a five minute read. It is a dip-in book. It was not written to be read in a single sitting and the style of the content cannot sustain the reader. In fact, it became counter-productive. One became more aware of Mr Brooker's repetition of certain stylistic motifs eg. 'shoving spoons in ones eyes' than the targets of his wit.
He's watched some tripe bless him. Don't try and read 'in bulk', buy the book (not the kindle), stick it in the dunny. Surely the way it was meant to be read.
