Do you ever here people say that you are lonely? Well in the poem "I'm in Charge of Celebrations," by Byrd Baylor, a girl is not lonely because she is friends with nature.
There was a girl that lived in the desert. People asked her if she was ever lonely, but she was not because she had friends in nature. Also, every time something amazing happened she made a celebration, such as Dust Devil Day on March 11. She made the month the same but not the same year. Is she ever lonely?
The author wrote this book to tell people that if you see something amazing, you should make a celebration for it because it might have cost a million dollars or just memories.
My favorite part of the book is when it was Coyote Day, because it was amazing to see the coyote eat apples, pumpkin seeds, corn, and homemade cookies in front of a person.
I liked the book because it was so amazing to see animals not be afraid of the girl. This book is amazing is you love poem books. You should read this book soon!
