As a professional photographer for over 50 years and having changed to digital photography five years ago, I know all the problems associated with portable studio flash sync-leads, stands umbrellas etc etc. Having five flashguns accumulated over the years from the Canon 580ex, Vivitar, Sunpak etc I wanted a light weight portable system that I could carry with me that is very easy to set up, and wireless. These flash triggers worked perfectly with all my flashes every time even when fired in another room. Combined with the studio stand flash and umbrella holder they fulfilled my specific requirements perfectly.

This kit was a reasonable price and includes a transmitter unit that mounts on the camera and two receivers. The transmitter has two small switches that are used to set the channel should anyone else be using the same device. There is no battery compartment so I assume it uses a small watch type battery. On the top of the unit is a small button that can be used for test firing and a red LED to show it is doing something.

The two receivers are quite small and have a hot shoe for one flash unit, two small switches to set the channel and an on/off switch. These units take two AAA batteries which are easy to replace and obtain. Each of the receivers has a tripod mount on the bottom and a red LED light to show when a signal is received.
The bodies of all three units are made of plastic but because of the small size the all feel quite strong.

Do they work? Yes! Attached one receiver to my Pentax unit, one to the Sigma unit powered them up and then switched on the receivers. Switch them on before you power up your flash units as that will fire the flash. That is OK if you are not looking at the flash tube whilst you switch them on - can still see the tube after a few minutes! I have only done a few test shots so far and they have fired every time. Not sure what the effective distance is but 20ft through a wall did work. The instructions say they should work up to 20 metres.

I was initially very pleased with the trigger and receivers and was impressed at the actual range that they worked over (some 50ft). One of the receivers though has started to trigger itself and has essentially become redundant :( This is only after 5 trips out.

The product feels very plastic and cheap.

I never managed to get consistent results with it. Sometimes the flashes would fire, but most of the time they didn't. Working with these just became a really frustrating experience for me.
I would invest in something better, these aren't worth the money.

Does what it says on the box. This version of the PT-04 433MHz triggers seem better made than the older ones. They are shorter and don't have the adjustable foot, so they take up less space and feel less "bendy". They also have a threaded hole for a tripod so you can remover the hotshot adapter from you flash stand and screw it on directly to save more space.

I cannot say that I have and any problems with them at all. The hot shoes are a good tight fit and work perfectly.

I have only had one misfire in maybe 1000 shots, and that was with a reinforced concrete floor and 7-8m in between. Five or six other shots in the same situation worked fine though. Batteries were also not new, so if it had been a big problem I could have tried new ones.

4 Channel PT-04 Wireless Flash Trigger Control with Remote4 Channel PT-04 Wireless Flash Trigger Control Set with 3 x ReceiversPT-04A 2 in 1 Radio Wireless Flash & Studio Trigger x 2 Receivers for Nikon,Canon,Pentax,Olympus Systems
My ishoot wireless trigger worked fine for the limited use it had about 4 photo shoots and then when just over a year old stopped working. Changed battery etc but will still not work. It will fire the flash when the button on the top is pushed but not when the camera is fired even though the red transmit light comes on to indicate signal being sent. My camera works fine with other products.

These triggers are superb. Yes you have to set your flashes manually as they don't do ettl but I have a lastolite 3metre cord for when i want that. The fact that you can fire them anywhere and they are so cheap means that they are superb value for money. Also using one of these yo ucan use any tripod as another flash mounted lighted stand. Well worth buying.

At first this seemed to work, just about and to be good value for money, but the poor build quality soon meant none of the connectors worked and I've just thrown this out after too much frustration trying to get it to work consistently with my Nikon d700 and sigma flash.

I'm sure it works done for others, but just be prepared.
