I found the book very interesting with a good storyline. The characters were quite engaging and I loved the fact that it's not solely centred around the hero and heroine. I'd love a follow up on the hero's very likeable best friend (if there isn't already one).

Enjoyed this book. Well written and kept you wanting to read more. Had a good story line, heroine not liking hero to start with but falling in love eventually. Would recommend.

As a historical regency romance addict, I decided to try this novel as my next fix. Whilst I was a little surprised at the speed the two main characters fell in love, I did enjoy it a lot. Whilst the circumstances in France seemed possibly a little unrealistic, I was on edge waiting for Charles to realise the ruse that had been conducted under his nose, and for the two to reveal their feelings for one another. A nice, fast-paced read - I will definitely look for more by the author.

While the plot was good, I felt rather rushed in certain sections-eg the marriage part, plus others. The Hero's character came across as indecisive many, many times. Anna was lovely, I thought. I could feel her sweetness and naivety. Too many "sisters", the only one I could relate to was Lydia and didn't really care much for the others. The dowager duchess's character could have been expanded on as her feelings towards Anna also seemed rushed or insufficiently developed.

Overall okay but I probably will not re-read the book.

New author for me, and just loved this book. Had a good storyline outside the central romance. The characters are well written and you're drawn into their world and really get to love them. Just seen there's a sequel so hoping we meet some of the main protagonists again

Started really promisingly, and then ended up with the heroine (who had been quite brave and capable) being embroiled in a highly unlikely set of circumstances. Hero also completely soppy or striding around in a fury...

I very much enjoyed this book. The characters were attractive and there was a sufficient element of uncertainty in the plot to keep the interest. I found it hard to leave the book as I wanted to know what happened next and it all rounded off in a satisfactory conclusion. I bought it by chance and I'm glad I did!

This is the first book I have read by this author and it will certainly be the last. A VERY poor example of the genre. The heroine was totally gullible and behaved like a pathetic fool - the storyline was totally predictable and the minor characters detracted from the plot without adding any additional interest. Best avoided as reading it was an exercise in frustration.
