I loved this book. It's frothy and fun and reminded me of those early Jilly Cooper books - Emily, Bella etc. The heroine, Millie Braythorpe,is lovely and has had such a horrible upbringing that you're really willing for everything to work out for her in the end. I'm looking forward to reading more Kate Lace!

I was quite uncertain about this book when I first read the synopsis but I've got to say it's a great read. I was honestly surprised about how much I enjoyed.........now I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the Little Black Dress books 😀😁📚

This is a modern tale ideal for a lazy Sunday afternoon read. You will fall in love with the main characters and be able to relate to them. A good novel easy to put down and pick up again. Go on read it and get that feel good factor.

I saw this book in a shop the day before going away on a skiing holiday but decided to order it through Amazon. It arrived in time to take it with us. It was very enjoyable reading while in a chalet in the snow and I had finished it by the end of the first morning (too much snow stopped the skiing). My 19 year old daughter then grabbed it and immersed herself as well. If you like easy reading, lovely scenery and a happy ending, this is a great book. We are both glad to have read it.

Fantastic read! I got through the book in one sitting. The story is light, the characters lovable and the prose flowing. Perfect for a night in with a glass of wine. Millie plays a wonderful female lead for Luke's character, supporting roles are involved but don't detract from the main storyline.

The Chalet Girl was one of my favourite Little Black Dress books so far because it had such warmth and heart. Millie, the heroine, was extremely engaging and I was rooting for her to overcome her horrible background and triumph. Luke was a gorgeous, sympathetic hero and I enjoyed hearing about the life of a chalet girl - certainly not all glamour and the plot zips along to an exciting conclusion. One to read any time of year, not just in winter.

I have read a fair few LBD books and have liked some more than others. This was personally recommended by a friend and I was really disappointed by it. Millie simply didn't ring true - a teenager is far too young to be looking for a "happy ever after" and therefore seems out of place in a romance novel written for adults. I didn't believe in the angsty backstory, as Millie's predicament read like something out of a 1960's novel, rather than a convincing modern tale of love. The hero is underwritten, dull and there is zero chemistry with Millie. The whole thing seemed very stately and rather old fashioned, and rather out of place as an LBD at all.
