This is an awesome series filled with plenty of action and laughs the story can get a little confusing at times but bare with it, if you like things like magic, alchemy and super powers in your anime then this is for you.

It's been a while since I've found a series where I can really enjoy it not just for the plot, but for the character's as well. The last show/franchise I watched that let me do this was Evangelion. I have watched other shows in which I've loved the plot, and liked a handful of characters, but this is a series where I've found myself getting more into the characters than the plot. Don't get me wrong, the plot is good, but I like it when there is plenty of character development, and I can easily get into the characters.

STORY
Our story takes place in Academy City, home to mostly students that want to learn about Esper's, learn how to control they're power, or learn to become an Esper. The city is so scientifically advanced that it is a number of years ahead of present time. Academy Cities unluckiest level 0 Esper, Touma, one day finds a girl hanging from his balcony, asking for food. She explains that she was being chased, and now it's up to Touma to protect her from a group of sorcerer's that want the grimoires that she carries.
Like I said before; the plot is good and I like it. But there are times when certain stories take an interesting turn, maybe not for the best, but even then they are still interesting enough and have enough moments for you to look past them. This is by no means a perfect series in terms of plot, because there are moments when you feel like something could have been handled better, but in the end you can easily look past some flaws in the plot and enjoy what's there.
There is approximately six story arcs, and my favorite of them all is the 'Sisters' story arc. This story arc is compelling, sort of deep, and takes the cloning cliche and does something new with it. This is the best part of the first season, and it is gold.
