After reading that this product contained salicylic acid, I thought that this would be the holy grail for my keratosis pilaris... street name, strawberry skin.
It came on the 4th of March and I originally used it everyday for about 3 weeks with a loofah sponge during my daily showers. I now use it twice a week. The last picture was before I started using it.
As time went by, I noticed that I started to get a lightened complexion on my legs but didn’t really mind as the dots were fading (2nd pic 23/04/2021). The scar on my left leg also started to fade.
With continued use, I did notice that the appearance of my skin was rather dry. This was extremely weird for me as I am OBSESSED with using lotion. On average, I use two bottles of 200ml of lotion per month. Nonetheless, I still continued to use it as I desperately want clear legs. Only this time, I’ve mixed olive oil with the lotion to really moisturize it to combat the excessive dryness.
The first picture is what my legs look like after 9 weeks. I must say I do see a difference but I feel that the massive change was brought about with an exfoliating glove which I’ve now incorporated into my shower routine twice a week.
I also no longer shave my legs. I instead use hair removal cream (NAIR; a godsend actually)
Verdict: I do see a difference and as a woman of colour I would recommend this to those within that bracket as finding products that will work for us isn’t easy without having horrible side effects (STAY AWAY FROM DIFFERIN). I’ll just say use at your own risk and discretion.
