I've obviously read a very different book to everyone else.

I bought a book, advertised as a SWAT read and by 82% I was yet to read anything remotely near an actual SWAT operation. Okay so they go into a house, trip wires are activated and there's a demolished wall. By the way, later has a "dead" man hiding who had enough time to write a note telling the Law what happened when his house was breeched --- this was too far-fetched for me, survival 101 would have been his main objective.

Author has a thing about over. Describing balls and how they hang ….

It’s full of inconsistencies i.e..

Beard? Luke has a beard that's mentioned fleetingly but the amount of times Luke goes down on Reese you'd expect friction / stubble burn.

A funeral and all Reese complains about is the walk and being exhausted.

Reese doesn't know why she's in a Taco Bell as she's just ate yet in the next statement she knew it was Luke's SUV when she saw it in the parking lot --- Make your mind up!!!

"Nearly everyone man and woman looked at me, although not many" this makes no sense!

It started off promising but then nosedived. I'm a sucker for a female that can carry cussing/swearing off and thought Reese would be a great read! But then Reese became annoying and her inner monologue at times gave the impression she had a ticket on herself.

It went from being a “S.W.A.T” read to Mafia connections, where the Russian went about killing her husband and his mistress. Again this could have worked if it had been thought out and researched properly.

Luke --- who suddenly at the end is called Lucas was a good read! I realise these characters appear in other books? For a first time reader there should have been a little recap or back story.

Perhaps an editor and proof reader could've helped? I won’t be going back for more.

A really enjoyable story, the author was new to me so I didn't know some of the secondary characters before hand. However it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the book. I really liked Reese and Luke. The story was hot, and I really liked the way the epilogue was written, as it was so quirky and different to any I had read before.

This is the first book I have read from Lani Lynn Vale but I have to say it will definitely not be the last!!

This story drew me in from the beginning and kept me hooked the whole way through. I was hanging on the edge of my seat waiting to see where the story was going to take us.

There was quite a lot happening in this book so I never found myself bored or setting the book down for more than a few minutes.

I loved Luke, there was an instant connection with him. I loved how he would do anything for his daughter, it was so sweet to see the big strong police officer be wrapped around Katy's finger.

Reese was a great heroine, she had a good sense of humour and I loved her caring nature.

The only thing I would criticise this book about would be the lack of interaction with the children. Sure it talked about them quite a lot but there was very little of them included in the story. I would have loved to have seen the relationships building.

I liked this. Luke who we first met in Lani's other books, finally gets his own story and it was a good storyline. I liked the characters, it was developed well. I thought the end was slightly rushed but it didn't take away any enjoyment.
Reese is a school nurse and meets Luke when he's called into school because his daughter has had anaphylactic reaction. Katy is ok but Luke is intrigued by the nurse who wears superhero scrubs. She likes him straight away but thinks he's off limits.
Obviously they soon get together but complications are thrown their way in the form of Weston, Reeses' daughter's dad and his wife, even Luke's ex girlfriend is involved. We also see some of the Dixie Wardens MC.
I just had a couple of niggles over the story. *This could be a spoiler for some. What happened to the baby? The jewels?
Anyway it's good gun and more than a light read, much more.
Suitable for older readers due to content.

oh my giddy aunt! I love this new series!
Is nice that it's a cross over with the dixies but great that it has new characters and story lines.
I can not wait for the Nico's story.

Great to have these characters from Dixie Wardens MC/Freebirds start to get their own stories told. Loved it, even if though there were tears. So looking forward to the rest.
