Product Description

From the Back Cover

The Celtic Tarot is an inspired and superlative blending of Celtic art and Tarot wisdom. Combining the unsurpassed beauty and elegance of Courtney Davis's world-famous designs and the ancient magic and symbolism of Celtic myth and legend, the result is a Tarot deck whose vitality and power will delight and enthral lovers of mythology, Tarot and Celtic art.

This special pack includes a book by Helena Paterson, which delves into the origins of the Celtic people and their mystical Druidic religion. The book goes on to examine the Tarot cards one by one, explaining their meanings by linking the cards to the major characters of the Celtic myths and gods. It concludes with detailed instructions on how to use the cards, together with a newly devised spread – the Druid's Star. Together with the 80 full-colour paintings by Courtney Davis, each one a masterful reaction in its own right, this exclusive pack contains all you need to awaken the spirit of a golden age.

Format: Paperback
The cards have a really positive feel to them and the imagery is at once beautiful and powerful. Very easy to use. The accompanying book taught me new things about tarot and really made the cards infinitely more usable.

The Celtic artwork on the cards is full of symbolism which is explained very clearly in the text of the book. The cards are easy to use and there are a number of suggested layouts including a new one for this deck. Excellent.

Format: Paperback
A beautiful deck for an experienced tarot user. However the minor arcana cards do no have images on them other than such as; 3 swords for the 3 of swords or ten swords for the ten of swords, there are no clues to the meanings, so you need to know the traditional meanings already or rely on the accompanying handbook to get up to speed. Otherwise a lovely set.

Format: Paperback
While remaining true to fairly standard tarot, Paterson and Davis produced a minor work of art which will be accessible to practiced tarot users yet also immediately significant for any with a background in celtic, pagan, wiccan and arthurian sybolism. Dont be put off by that list, it works!
