The Celtic Knot is a mild romantic suspense with a touch of magic. It is set in Florida around a Renaissance festive theme park.

Lily Evans is an insurance agent, who works alongside her controlling boyfriend Lucas. She enjoys reading Tarot cards and her friend Beth persuades her to take a part-time job reading the cards at Castle Wilde. It's here she first meets Ian Kelly, Irish mural painter and actor, there is an instant attraction.

Through dream scenes we discover that both Lily and Ian have met in several past lifetimes, so it's no surprise they feel things are familiar at times. Lucas disapproves of anything magical which borders on fantasy, so Lily soon decides to leave him for Ian.

Meanwhile the local news tells of a woman's body found in the River Alafia.

Ian soon has concerns for Lily's safety when he suspects a stalker with a more sinister motif, but he has his own secrets he's not yet prepared to reveal. Can he make a final commitment or will he lose Lily again?

5.0 out of 5 stars A sexy, richly drawn paranormal erotic romance novel that will not disappoint 10 May 2015
By george pappas - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
To say that Shannon MacLeod’s debut novel “The Celtic Knot (Suit of Cups) (Arcana Love) (Volume 1) is sexy would be an understatement.

This is hot, scintillating passionate erotic writing that will turn you on, stir romantic notions and make you think.

The scenes between her two main protagonists, Lily and the mysterious Ian, serve as the passionate core of her paranormal erotic romance novel. You will not be disappointed with her racy tale as her well-written sex scenes jump off the page and will captivate you from the start.

But this is more than a sexy novel.

Shannon is not afraid to delve into the mysterious nature of desire and love. Although she deftly explores paranormal aspects of her characters and themes, Shannon also creates strong thinking and feeling characters who live in the real world fraught with regrets, fears, consequences, heartbreak, loss and disappointments. Her erotic scenes only serve the story are not gratuitous in any way.

Shannon also writes poignantly about death, loss, regrets, haunting romantic decisions, overcoming cultural divides and the potentially thrilling and heartbreaking nature of love.

The novel also takes a dark turn exploring the nature of an obsessive jealous ex-boyfriend of Lily’s named Lucas, who triggers the book’s climatic scene.

Shannon is truly a talented author to watch. She will keep you guessing about the fate of her novel’s richly drawn characters until the novel’s close. I highly recommend her first novel. I suggest you explore her other work as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars A promise to the Author (from the crazy support agent) 27 May 2016
By Chae D. - Published on Amazon.com

I was pondering a new paranormal book series to read after completing my last when I had the great pleasure of speaking with Shannon MacLeod one day when she called for some "video game" account support and as luck would have it, I was the agent who got her phone call. After a wonderful conversation (while working on her issues at hand) I discovered she was an author and BINGO she wrote paranormal books, which are my favorite. I got the book and promised I would give an honest review afterwards...and here it is Shannon!

First, let me start by saying...everything is better with a touch of Irish. The characters are easy to wrap yourself around and take interest in. They do not seem to far "un-human" and you can imagine them walking beside you in the real world. There were a few things that I did not see the reason for in the story such as a few of the "flashbacks or memories". Some of them seemed out of place and did not give a clear reasoning. I also would have liked maybe a little bit more insight into the two villains of the book. We do get some about the ex-boyfriend but not much about his accomplice and what her motivations are or her thoughts.

However, the book in itself was fantastic (so much so I immediately purchased the second book after finishing the first!). The pace of the book is steady and there is never a dull moment. I was sad when the book ended because I wanted more!!! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a great new paranormal series to read. The characters are wonderful and the plot is one that will keep you wanting to read and never put the book down.

One suggestion I would make for book #3 (which I will be ready to purchase as soon as you finish it)...perhaps you might add all of the gaelic words, pronunciations and meanings somewhere in the book as a reference? It would help when you see the word "mo cuishle" and forget what it means or if you have no clue how to even say it to have that to reference to either at the start of the book or the end. Other than that...write faster...I don't want to wait to long for the 3rd book!

Shannon Macleod's The Celtic Knot: Suit of Cups is a fun and steamy trip to central Florida. It is filled with romance, Cuban sandwiches and a bit of magic! She created a group of likeable (and doable) characters who you will come to care about and root for. You will get no spoilers from me so go ahead and click the buy now button and give this book a read. You will not be disappointed.
