If you love cheesy 80's horror then this is really worth checking out, good original story about a creature that is created through the imagination of its artist and comes off the pages to act out the murders! Cool looking monster effects, the cast is ok, a few nice looking girls, some topless shower nudity, some mild gore, a cocktail of all the right stuff for a top cheesy 80's movie, I rated it lower because the running time is only 77mins, would have been better if it was stretched a little more with a slightly bigger budget, looks good on DVD though, shame there's no Blu-ray or any features! Bargain horror, best watch it like its a twilight zone episode, its more fun that way!

A brilliant little piece of cinema!

Lesley Ash stars as Dr. Christine Nicely, a golden haired young sprout with a whole sack full of ambition, until one day something strange happens...Christine wakes up to find she has transformed into a hedge trimmer. Christine must now face a life full of strange new obstacles, and choices that will allow her to carry on existing.

While basic in it's premise, and obviously based on Franz Kafka's 'The Metamorphosis' the film is actually riddled with deep, underlying subtexts, including Afro-american culture, Chinese oppression and teenagers battle with early puberty. Expect a roller coaster ride of thrills, chills, laughs and heartwarming romance, as you share Christine's odd and exciting experiences as a hedge trimmer.

Despite the high certificate rating, I recommend this film to all ages.
