    The author resurrects some 1893 work by Heaviside to postulate that gravitational fields have more in common with electromagnetic law than the repulsion of static gravitation, and that both sciences can benefit from a time-dependent treatment that illustrates causality better than Maxwell's equations. Conclusions include a force of cogravitation analogous to the magnetic force, non-instantaneous propagation of gravitation, and the existence of five (5) gravitational forces. Rejecting the idea that E and H cause each other, Jefimenko shows that mass, change in mass density, and mass currents are the origin of both the gravitation and cogravitation vectors. Highly recommended for those who want to learn fields and waves by thinking. about them Urgently relevant because of the recent detection of gravity waves -- this book will give you a background even if you disagree with it.

    If you have a brain and like to use it, I think you will like this book. It's not a beginner book, but rather an alternative viewpoint with an associated philosophy (i.e. causality).

    Example: A current increases in a wire. This causes a changing magnetic field. This changing magnetic field causes an electric field.

    Question: Why not assume it's the current that DIRECTLY causes the electric field AND the magnetic field which propagates at the speed of light and are independent of each other? And they just "look" like they are "causing" each other.

    What? Heresy you say?. It can't be right. It's too simple to be true.

    No, it's perfectly reasonable and the end result is the same. In fact it can be shown to be mathematically equivalent.

    But it skips the foggy-headed-magical ideas that are necessary to accept the traditional view point where things that happen after, somehow affect things that happened before.

    This is the idea of Causality. Things must happen in a certain order.

    This book is needed to read the other books by Jefiminko and presents the background for the ideas presented in them. I was able to follow the mathematics easily enough and the ideas presented while not mainstream were proved in detail. More people should ate the time to read this and compare the results of current relativity physics. As with quantum mechanics there are two paths to the same answers each equally valid and correct. Alternate theories often are psuedo scientific and not proven but the results of Jefiminko are proved and give the same results as other methods. Worth reading to keep the mind working and looking at things in new ways. Reading the whole series is interesting and worthwhile.

    What happens when 1st Electron bunch is conducted with reversing fields? (1) ELECTROKINETIC INDUCTANCE (EK): When an fast electron without electromagnetic mass accelerates with changing velocity, it creates EK to move charges along parallel conductors or thin films (vice field lines) to Conduction Current (CC), page 28,78. Acceleration forces drivers against their seats. That doesnt happen at any constant speed. Accelerating CC density charges radiates EK not RF (schott momentum). Acceleration starts every time current direction is reversed. (2) DIELECTRIC INDUCTION: EK inductance moves the 2nd Electron bunch to form Displacement Current (DC). The individual particle fields of the 2nd bunch are combined into a collective changing field. (3) Jefimenko realized that fields dont have to be torn down to produce DC (ie E to M or M to E) Mainstream science missed it. (4) Jefimenko did not mention: (a) That he calculated EK for conductors because dielectric constants were not included in his formulas. (b) That EK is meager and easily dissipated by electron movement in dielectric materials because of immediate electron scattering. Variable high vacuum in Vacuum Capacitors US567818 is an example of an dielectric. Compare with: "Displacement Current: Fact or Myth?" I figured out the magic trick on page 51: Why does changing E-field move a capacitor when turned off? (1) The small charging current creates MAGNETIC INDUCTION. The trick needs to tear down this field to create a back force per Lenz's Law (magnetism penetrates dielectrics). This back emf travels in the opposite direction of CC. (2) The trick needs a dipole. The charge potential between back emf and CC forms a dipole for an instant in time. (3) The magician must form an external field to draw the dipole to its source. The trick occurs when Dielectrophoretic Force (DF) co-exists with back emf (going off) but not when only back emf exist (coming on). The capacitor jumps toward increasing electric strength. Likewise, iron jumps toward increasing magnetic strength: See "Nonuniform Electric Fields - by Herbert A Pohl". Its a good parlor trick of little use. I dont understand his gravity formulas.
