When their paths cross again Kat tries to remain aloof but the passion never died for either of them. The path to true love never did run smooth and the two of them find obstacles in their way.
This was sweet, sexy and enjoyable. For me it didn't have the wow factor of some of Lauren' s other books but I still liked it.
I would recommend this book to 17+ readers.
This contemporary romance is steamy, sexy and erotic. The heat practically sets the pages on fire. Caught Up In Us is an easy and entertaining read with characters that are passionate in everything they do. They know what they want in life and how to succeed. Protagonist Kate is a rounded character: she is refreshingly straightforward and self-confident in taking what she wants (yes, you can read that any way you want) but also from time to time insecure and hesitant – aren’t we all sometimes in our lives? That makes this light read very pleasant and the perfect Valentine gift. Fans of Danielle Steel will love the Caught Up in Love Series.
Kat is a great character, she is very smart and independent. She is unwilling to trust Bryan and let him into her heart because of how he broke it in the past. It is great to see her gradually remove the walls she has placed around her heart with his help. They are such a great couple that are clearly made for each other and you want so much for them to get their happily ever after.
One thing i loved about this book is all the flashbacks. It almost runs as two time periods - present time and when they first met 5 years earlier. It helps to highlight how the characters have changed and matured as well as giving us all the back story.
This is a book i would recommend 100% to fans of NA and romance as well as anyone who is looking for a short sweet read. This author clearly has so much potential and i think there is a chance she will become a must read author whom the world will talk about.
*I recieved this book from the author in exchange for a honest review, this has not affected my thoughts on the book in any way*
I had read the short prequel Caught Up in Him before this and it set the scene Caught Up in Us. Kat Harper had a summer romance with her brother's best friend. Only to be left broken hearted when he abruptly ended things just as Kat was about to start college.
Five years later, Kat has crafted a good living from her heartache and runs a successful charm jewellery business inspired by her favourite mistakes of the past. When she attends a mentor course as part of her degree she is faced with non other than Bryan. It isn't long before the sparks fly and old feelings resurface.
Kat of course is hesitant and refuses to become involved with Bryan again because a) he's her mentor and b) she can't risk getting hurt again.
"I had too much at stake, most of all my own bruised heart."
I loved the relationship between Bryan and Kat, they had witty banter and Kat was no wallflower, and wasn't afraid to put Brian in his place.
"Served him right with the way he was blowing me off. At least I'd had an orgasm, and he hadn't. Small victory, but I'd take it.
I loved the author's writing, it was so easy to get lost in this book. I read it within hours as it's a quick, easy read. Kat and Bryan travelled to Paris and I loved the descriptions and going on that journey with them.
I liked the theme of music and movies during the book. It was something special to Kat and Bryan, I loved the references throughout. My favourite one was
"I handed him the remote and settled in next to him. We scrolled through the options on-demand, debating whether we wanted to see Pitch Perfect or Bridesmaids. Anna Kendrick was my girl crush, so that movie won.Read more ›

Just never really bought into the characters, this book was never convincing. So much of it was cliched and would never have worked.Published 8 months ago by Kindle Customer
