Note: There is a plastic chip in the ball, which must be removed before using the ball.Catit Design Senses Super Roller Circuit, including 4 elevated tracks, 4 regular tracks and 1 illuminated ball, takes fun and action to a breathtaking new highs and lows. This very large 8-piece play circuit is the ultimate exercise stimulator.Trouble shhooting steps: The ball does not light up.Has the plastic insert to activate the ball been removed? If so the batteries may have become unaligned, to realign them hold the ball so that the Catit symbol is directly on the bottom, and give a sharp tap on a hard surface. The item keeps coming apart and the ball gets stuck within the tube. The circuit has not been correctly put together, if the circuit is correctly locked together it is extremely difficult to separate the top and bottom parts without unclipping them from the underside, and impossible for a cat to do it. Ball getting stuck this is either caused by the circuit not being correctly setup, or not being used on a flat surface, or used on a carpet with a deep pile, this allows the sections to not sit flush and so reduces the area the ball can pass through. Note: There is a plastic chip in the ball, which must be removed before using the ball.

Assembly: Fairly tricky to build as connections are very tight fitting and anyone with arthritic hands will find this difficult & painful. Also, if you don’t assemble the blue pieces the right way round (it’s not instinctive), they are incredibly hard to in-prise and correct. Almost to the point I thought it was going to snap in two.
Ball: not very reactive. I thought the batteries were flat but it gives a few feeble flashes. Luckily I bought a red flashing ball separately and that works very well.
My cats: 2 kittens aged 4.5 & 5.5 months old.
Play: zero interest the first week. I finally had to sit down and play with it myself for a good 10 minutes whilst the kittens looked on, not remotely enticed. I almost gave up, when the one attempted to join in at last. He played for a few minutes and the other one wandered off !
Conclusion: I’ll update my review if it becomes semi regular entertainment.
This review is more for the whole range I have purchased.
From the quality of the materials used to small details like the finishing of edges, the whole range really are superb, spares etc are easily available and not expensive.
Assembly could not be easier.
I had previously bought the simple ring with a ball, that came with two ends, so you could reconfigure into a linear play, when I bought this item, with the 'hills' and straights it just opened up the amount of shapes I can build, this all keeps her ladyship interested on a daily basis.
It is now a little over a year on and I am doing a quick edit. The Girls still love this and play with it every day. Most toys get swapped in and out or become boring but this has stayed out and still entertains. The only sign of wear and tear is a few surface scratches where one of them decided to see if it worked as a chew toy. Safe and durable.
He blinking LOVES it. Can't get enough of rolling the flashing ball around, although I wish he wouldn't do it so much when he gets bored at 3 in the morning - a fairly common-sense tip is not to put it in the bedroom, I suppose. It's a good toy for letting owners and pets play together too, you can both push the ball around to each other. I am really, really happy with this purchase - I should have guessed that our simple boy would have simple pleasures. And the partially covered track is an excellent storage facility for twigs, it seems.
The ball that comes with it has a momentum-triggered flashing light. It's designed in such a way that it can't be opened up and the battery replaced, but obviously you don't need the light and any similar-sized ball will do if you don't want a replacement. Note that you need to pull a tab out before it works - I rolled it for a bit before I realised that and the tab got stuck in the ball, it took me a while to get it out and get the ball to work.
While it's not as advanced as I expected, this is a very well-designed and innovative toy that would work well, especially in a household with many cats. It clips together well, the spaces in the tunnel are perfect for paws but too small for the ball, and ramps are perfect to keep the ball rolling as long as possible. The only downside is that you can't alter the shape. Unless you have any spare parts, you're stuck with the circuit as the vaugly '8' shape, which was slighly dissapointing.
Also, for some reason the instuctions showed a different model as they probably use the same instructions for all of them. They all fit together the same way but it WAS a little worrying at first.
Overall, while it was quite different from what I expected, Willow loves it, so so do I! If your kitty dosen't seem interested in the toy, remember to just give the ball a nudge every now and again to show them how it works.
